i saw this mentioned in a topic i just read earlier so i thought, why not have one of these? i havent seen one in ages so here's a fun little poll for you to pick; and if you choose, explain why one's better than the other

personally i always liked the DS (and any other nintendo stuff); PSP seemed like it was trying to hard, DS was just classics, and the touch screen was a pretty cool breakthrough in gaming technology, esp in hand held gaming

+btw, here's a wikipedia article related to handheld gaming consoles:

I prefer computer games. Those consoles and games for them can be expensive so I just stick with my laptop, which I just bought, and my PS2.

I do have a gameboy color that I used to play a lot of Pokemon on, though.

Well the PSP seems more ideal for travelling. It has almost all you could ask for, games, music, and even movies.

I own a PSP, and the first thing I did with it when I got it was put Super NES Games on it.
I'll stick with my handy-dandy DS for the most part.

DS all the way. PSP is good if you dont own an mp3 player I guess but its nothing special in terms of hand held consoles. The DS on the other hand is clearly settin the bar for next gen hand held con's.
I didnt like the look of it when they first came out but since i got one i haven't been able to leave it alone for more than 20 mins.

Mook - They're brining out a FFXII Prequel for the DS as well as a 3D make over version of FFIII I think its 3 anyway...not 100%.
Both look pretty good.

PSP? Gimme a break lol.
DS and SP's are for true gamers

PSP is 250 bucks right off the bat, games 40-55 bucks, and then memory cards are like 30 dollars for the crap ones, 80 dollars for good cards!

Omg...gamegear flashbacks....that was an awful piece of kit.
I had battletoads, star wars and a few others I cant remember....the gameplay on that thing was amazingly bad. Next time I go back to my parents Im gonna find it burn it and film it. I need the closure.
Nintendo owns the handheld market and always will.

how does theDS have more votes than PSP????? But i do like the DS i am just wondering how can something that plays movies, music and plays games get beat by something like the DS.
Electro

Because the DS is an amazing games console. Dual screen!!! Touch & Audio Sensor!!! A stylus!!!!!
For example in the game phoinex wright when testing objects for finger prints you use the stylus to move the item around, you use the dual screen and the stylus to drop the magnetic fibre onto the item then you blow into the mic to remove the extra dust to view the fingerprint.
In a psp version that would probably be something like: X O up down X Down up. *yawn*
The PSP is an average games console with a DVD player & MP3 player added on. Its the equivalent of a hyped up game gear cross bread with an Ipod and a portable dvd player.
Not saying its awful or anything if you dont own an mp3 player and like watching dvds on the move it may be a good idea but if you want the superior games console its the DS every time.

DS for me!
I wanted a PSP more, and I would rather have one now, but I 've had my DS for more than a year, and I love the touch screen functionality, the mic, and 2 screens. It brought lots of Nintendo 64 games to better levels too.
Well I would vote for either the DS or PSP, not too sure though so I nulled.
I've played on both and their both amazing, but I'd probably pic the DS for the gameplay, really a PSP is just a combined mp3/dvd player/console, but I like the DS's games more, and I've heard bad things about some of the PSP's games.

Ive played both PSP and DS. I like the PSP so much more than the DS lol. I mean its great to have full lenght movies on the go, and then some extra clips. (Mine came with a 1GB mem stick w00t

) Then the games own on psp, I personally like PS2 ports better than N64 ports...the graphics.. much better .... music playing....comes ready with browser...its just much better. ALso many people say "Well, i might as well bring an Ipod for my music, and watch DVD's on a dvd player , and play games on my DS.." Good luck carrying that around.

All the PS2 ports are dumbed down though.
I like the DS because it's more innovative. Just overall more fun than the PSP, with a wider range of games.

I like the DS because I have one... Just a lot of fun IMO.
I didn't vote PSP because I only played it once at my friends house, just one game. So I haven't had any experience with it..
And I have played just about all the other handheld ones, but DS is my favorite.

Neither did I.
GBA original sold around 35 million units, Sp sold 44.
Then Micro sold like 3mil.
So it adds up to about 82.
But on wikipedia.org, it said as of March 31st, 2007.
I guess they dont sell them anymore.
Anyhow, I was rummaging through my stuff in my drawer, when I dug out my GBC..
I was like, "Man, i should go sell this on eBay for some bucks.."
I never ended up doing it..
