Lyrics.

There’s antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium,
And hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium
And nickel, neodymium, neptunium, germanium,
And iron, americium, ruthenium, uranium,
Europium, zirconium, lutetium, vanadium
And lanthanum and osmium and astatine and radium
And gold, protactinium and indium and gallium
And iodine and thorium and thulium and thallium.

There’s yttrium, ytterbium, actinium, rubidium
And boron, gadolinium, niobium, iridium
And strontium and silicon and silver and samarium,
And bi----h, bromine, lithium, beryllium and barium.

There’s holmium and helium and hafnium and erbium
And phosphorous and francium and fluorine and terbium
And manganese and mercury, molybdinum, magnesium,
Dysprosium and scandium and cerium and cesium
And lead, praseodymium, platinum, plutonium,
Palladium, promethium, potassium, polonium,
Tantalum, technetium, titanium, tellurium,
And cadmium and calcium and chromium and curium.

There’s sulfur, californium and fermium, berkelium
And also mendelevium, einsteinium and nobelium
And argon, krypton, neon, radon, xenon, zinc and rhodium
And chlorine, cobalt, carbon, copper,
Tungsten, tin and sodium.

These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard,
And there may be many others but they haven’t been discovered.

When I have to memorize huge blocks o' text , I just stare at it , then read it while staring at it , then read it again , then I try to say the first part without looking smile.gif

It works pretty well ohmy.gif
Good luck eep.gif

Remember the basic elements and you will be fine (i.e. hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, iron, sulfur, helium, etc ...).

I'm sure you dont need to know EVERY SINGLE element wink.gif

not really
only the last 2 lines would take any creative thinking

Most of the elements have symbols that are easily matched with the element name, and visa versa. Maybe you should try memorizing them by their groups? (example: Halogens, Alkaline Metals) Doing this might turn out to be more useful than simply matching a name with a symbol, because I doubt you're going to be using Unununium any time soon.

Unless you're taking Honors Chemistry or are majoring in Chemistry, I don't really see a point to memorizing the whole Periodic Table, since you didn't really specify. You should probably have memorized the wacky ones through the many experiments I'm sure you did. wink.gif

I know it's over but for anyone else who might have something like this, flashcards are the best way. Just take a regular 3x5 flashcard (notecard, whatever you call it); and cut it into two. Then on one side write the atomic number and the other side write the element name and any other info. Simply look through the side with the atomic number and try to memorize what's on the other side. And when the test comes up, you can count your spots (ie. nubmer 52) and bam you know it happy.gif

Ah well closed on request wink.gif
