I believe the world will end 7 years after the rapture occurs. But that's just my opinion. If I wasn't talking about it religiously, then I would give it a couple more thousand years.

yeah cuz liek we humans , "not cavemen" have lived for onyl like 5000 years or sumthin...

id say were still gonna live for more than 10 years...

if what i hope is right, 2012 should actually be the year we all advance in evolution... otherwise an unknown force will take over or we'll just all just die from the earth happening... i dunno i wikipediad it and found out alot of theories on 2012 lol... rather good theories in my opinion...

what ever... i have a feeling we might live either until 2052-2678 i chose those years because they just seem to fit...

otherwise rounded wise i would say we will all die around 2050-2680 so im making a big estimate... im being cheap big deal...

i honestly believe we realy arent going to live into the year 3000... i honestly think it is near impossible... from all the threats and dangers not just on earth but in the universe... a set things could happen to the earth...

nuclear warfare, global warming, an asteroid big enough to wipe out the earth hits us, a heavenly body (such as a star) explodes and sends off a huge load of radiation that will literally fry the planet, something religiously might bring the world to an end (i.e. anti-christ all of that...) alien life come and will either invade and inslave us or kill us all (with the possiblility that aliens exist and ever do come to earth... and theres still a possibility they might not be hostile...) we advance in technology abit to much (say we create something that kills us... kinda like in battlestar galactica), the whole terminator movie becomes reality... (that would SUCK...)

i cant really think of anything else.. my point is... im pretty sure we have from anywhere around 43-673 years before we die... there is just no way we will live to the year 3000... i just cannot see anyway it would be possible...
Lordultimax
humanity is probably going to end within 2012 and 2030. from pollution and stuff and deforestation of rainforests, give it til 2011 and there wont be much left. Meaning more carbon dioxide into the ozone, so it burns up. In several years, the ozone will burn up completely and be more vulnerable to the suns radiation, and meteors. Also, less oxygen. And because of the rapidly growing amount of people, even less oxygen. 6/6/06 was the devils day, whether in real life or runescape. real life, near my area some number of car crashes happened. And in runescape, of course the fally massacre.

supposedly this year through 7/7/07 its supposed to be really good. after then, the rest of the year is supposed to be bad. idk
WILLSC84WINGS
Well we do get the options of death!

1. we start a war with japan, north korea, and russia
2. Bush will accusse the United States of having Weapons of mass destruction
And if somehow we live through those, we have till the sun burns out.

You can't really tell when the human race with become extinct, chances are it'll happen when we either make the earth uninhabitable or we end up fighting over the last remaining oil.

There are alternatives to oil.

Iceland for example, are nearing their target of having every car in the country converted to running on bio-fuel. There's also nuclear power for energy and bio-plastics and sythentics that have recently been developed.

I think the Human race could be sustainable indefinitely.

Our only real problem is other humans. With the looming advent of usable space travel/ the gradual increase in average intelligence who knows where we'll be in any number of years. We may start colonising other worlds soon.

If we can avoid meteors/the sun dying out/ resources depleting that is...

2012 is the prediction of something better actually... supposidly theres a chance thats when the earths magnetic field reverses... or other thoeries have stated that it may be the year in which we all evolve in evolution (something like that not exactly though)

if the human race doesnt have something bad happen to it on 2012 then we'll most likely have had something insane have happened to us and we might just actually end up living alot longer than ever expected!

or the worst might come out of the best... eitherway...

2012 will be a major point in earths history considering its something good... or it might all just be nothing that were getting all worked up about... and it will still be remembered as the mayans screwed up...

If humanity continues our wasteful trends and behaviors, examples being deforestation, polltion, etc, humanity is bound to be doomed. Also there is the huge problem with the growth of population versus the growth of food/resources production. Humans will keep on finding out new ways to improve our everyday lives, make our lives easier, etc, but there will always be those who do not care for the planet we live on. Unless we think of someway in which we could prevent the negative aspects of human lives, humanity will not be here to see the end of time.

Actually the sun is far too small a star to form a black hole. The sun will expand, drawing the innermost planets into itself - being termed a red giant - before shrinking into a white dwarf.

And as for the evolution taking millions of years Zhou - think how far humanity has come in the last 200 years or so. Every generation has completely reinvented itself. We've gotten taller, smarter (admittedly a matter of opinion) and longer lived. The next link in the evolutionary scale could already be about, but dormant, or only in a select few people.

Oh yes Rocker, the idea of overpopulation dooming us all came and went in the 1990's. The only areas with growing populations are in Africa and certain parts of Asia. In the Western world most every country is experiencing an aging population, leading to a tax defecit towards pensions in the UK and several other European countries. And thanks to battery farming we have all the food we'll ever need. To be honest, I'd see global warming lasting as a fad for another 10 years tops before everyone throws that one out like Global cooling and the 'Big Freeze' of the 70's or whenever it was and a population boom.

Humanity is a tremendously resilient race. There's no reason why we should have evolved past the caveman mentality, nor how we've survived all the problems that have arisen both before and after. Yet humanity always finds a way to stumble blindly on.

Everybody is just posting their views and then correcting others..

Some scientists believe our genes are aging, as in, younger generations are becoming affected by ailments usually aimed at older people.

The only evidence the scientists have is similar to 20 year olds getting Alzheimers etcetera. Despite this they lack enough evidence to prove themselves right yet.

I'd quite like to contradict that, due to most of the debates being about points of view, therein suggesting that every person knows exactly what their interpretation of the subject matter is. What this 'debate' - and yes I do use the term very liberally there - is about is predicting the future. Something quite impossible within our current understanding of the laws of time and space. For all we know, some aliens could come and destroy the Earth due to some botched bureaucracy in building an intergalactic highway the day after tomorrow.

Egg-zactly.

But then again, who are we to know that nobody knows when humanity will die?

We are making a total generalisation that not one soul being in all of humanity knows the answer, whereas, not one soul being in all of humanity knows everybody.

Therefore it can be said that this debate isn't really a topic to debate, it's merely a brainstorming of ideas which could be debated upon if one felt the need to prove a statement correct or otherwise.

First of all, I wasn't talking about "your" science of the Mayan Calendar. I was talking about what you said on Evolution. I believe that was clearly stated in my post. Let me check, yep. I referred to evolution after I posted.

Second of all, you're backed up by nothing but hollow shells. Your "evidence" doesn't even have enough evidence to support them.

Perhaps it would make you feel better, since you did not want to support anything, to call those scientists full of it instead of you full of it.

And full of it is not full of yourself.

I know its off topic... but your wrong mate wink.gif

One of the rules of chemistry = to Break bonds, you apply energy, energy is absorbed. To make chemical bonds, spare electrons are needed and energy is released.

Hydrogen being forced to separate from the Oxygen molecules in water takes in energy.
Hydrogen bonding to oxygen molecules releases energy.

You pump your car full of hydrogen.
