Hey, I was wondering if anyone has any tips for how do the fancy embellishment that can be seen in some logos. I don't want to use other people's brushes, I want to be able to make it myself. Here are some examples of what I mean:

The wings in the first. And the embellishment around the logo in #2 and #4.

It looks like some nice pen tool skills. smile.gif

Some people use the shape tool for thingies like that, but those look "homemade". eep.gif

I've been wondering about this too for a while... I would just make a homemade brush set combining the power of premade shapes with the pen tool to get awesomeness.

IMO, shapes are the most powerful tool in PS. You can play with them so much until they are inrecognizable as the shape they started as, but they still end up looking nice and clean.

Some of that even looks a little vectorish...

well, as zaico said its all just good pen tooling work.

If you never used pentool or paths before its hard to get it, but after u do its flowing and easy.

just google for some pictures to get ideas and then go with the flow (tip, make sure u make the basic drawing big enough cuz u never know when u would want to make a 300 DPI A4 printout tongue.gif
