I'm currently doing a project on the implications on Christianity if Extraterrestrial Life was discovered and I would appreciate it if I had a Christian's opinion on how it would affect them and their religion. Thanks. smile.gif

In no way whatsoever, I'm a Christian and I believe in aliens, if god made all this universe, is he gonna only make living things on this little rock called Earth...?

Well... I am a Christian and i'm really not too sure what to say.... But there wouldn't be much. We just might say that god made all living things and the universe so nothing might change.

I'm also a Christian and I think everyone in this world, christian or no in todays society would accept aliens if they were friendly. If their not... Not sure

Well, I'm a catholic, and I believe that there is another form of life somewhere, maybe in this galaxy.

If aliens did exist, it wouldn't matter. God made them and there's a purpose for them.

i am a confermed cristain and i believe that maybe god didn't stop on earth and might have created other organisms so i dont think it would change anything.
P.S good luck on the topic though

Honestly, no idea.

However, why couldn't God have created other forms of life?

He might not have, but he might have.

This was always an interesting topic for me. Of course I'm a Christian, why else would I be posting here, but if there were extra terrestrials out there or not, it wouldn't change my view of my religion. There is always a part of me sometimes that says "Why did God actually create the universe? Was there some other reason or purpose why it's here? Is it just a vastness of emptiness and nothingness?" I also question myself rarely if we aren't the only race that God created. The universe expands greatly, so could He have possibly created some other life form? All in all, I'll only know once I make it to Heaven. There all my questions will be answered. If I wasn't a Christian and I didn't believe in a God, gods, or something of higher power, then the alien concept I have may be different, I'm not quite sure. I hope that helped. Good luck with your project. You could also do it over other religions as well and see how it would affect them. I wonder if it would all end in the same outcome with all religious people.
The Llama
My belief is that there are other lifeforms in the universe. No where in the Bible did it say that Humans were the only living sentient species, and no where did it say that Earth was the only inhabited planet.

Why would God make a universe so large, only to be lived on by 6 billion people and even more animals, on a planet that could be compared to something smaller than a plankton in the Pacific Ocean.

well as a christian i dun really think there are aliens ...

there just a fable to mi... but i thought i saw one... but i dun think it was one.. ( UFO)

well i agree wit llama

but there might be other creatures roamin this universe... you'll never know... dun forget they found WATAR on MARZZZZ

ents stole my baxe!
I believe god created the Universe, Evolution, and THEN humanity, so i just spoiled this topic. Bacteria can form on well watered planet's too, you know?

If there WHERE aliens, i would find it possible to be a hoax, and then some. My view would be then confirmed that god DID create other lifeforms than humans.
