Anyone else play Civilization IV? I play it from time to time and own the base game along with the two expansions (Warlords and Beyond the Sword)...

Yes and Yes.

What more is there to discuss that this is currently one of the best game serieses out there.

I once played one of the old Civilizations (dunno which one) and i didnt know what to do

I plan on picking up this game later this week and probably the Beyond the Sword expansion pack. My friend at another RuneScape forum has decided to organize some games between a few of us and has said that the Warlords expansion isn't as good as the Beyond the Sword expansion. He did say that Beyond the Sword did have a good medieval-fantasy modification that was nice. Anyway I played Civilization III a little bit. I was just wondering how similar is the game play in III and IV.

is it a little like age of empires?

Kind of.
Age of Empires is real time strategy.
Civilization is turn based strategy.

It is essentially the same as CivIII, but there are major changes.
-More resources
-Better development of land
-Overall Graphically better

If you enjoyed Civ II or III, then definitely get Civ IV
