Ok, I just downloaded Gimp since I didn't feel like paying for Photoshop, and I am majorly confused. I believe I downloaded the latest version, Gimp - 2.4 by the way. Anyways, since I didn't know how to work with this, I decided to first go to the help menu thingy, and it said I needed to download it... I decided not to. :| Anyways, here is a picture. (Thumbnail just so it won't take up the whole screen.)



Anyways, I don't know how to work anything at all. I tried to click on the tools like the pencil, and I went into that random white space, and it did nothing, and it's just confusing me to death, lol. If anyone can explain to me on how to use this, I would love it. Thanks.

Start by maximizing the window called gimp with the tools in it then click
File>New and select your dimensions then go back to the tool window and select the tool you want go back to the empty canvas and draw away

go to File>New and once you get your canvas up just start playing with the tools and filters, in about a hour you'll be pretty good with it.
