i think i did an ok job. its my first fake and took 3 hrs. grade 1/10

I'm going to say the usual about a first fake. It's OK for a first, but you just filled the river with solid red, which doesn't look real. The chat where it says "Lava river! Wtf?" doesn't fit in, and neither does the "Omfg h4x??" chat. The guy in the river doesn't fit in right either. OK for a first, but it's not a real quality one.
I'd say 8/10 for effort, 5.9/10 for quality.

i was using paint and thanks for the rating. how would i make it look more realistic?

What about taking a copy of a piece of texture of the lava you find in the Karamja volcano?

it wont be the best, but you are just seeking for a realistic result...

Try using a bitty more of imagination not only in the fake itself, but also in the way you make it

If that was your 5th fake, I would bomb the scores.

Photoshop is not good for runescape fakes. I know this from making 100s of fakes.

What you can do next time:

1. ALWAYS save as PNG, it preserves the color.

2. when you add text, make sure you edit all the space around the text white and when you select it, make sure it's set to transparent so it looks like the text is actually there.

3. For the lava, try to use a screenie of the lava in the karamja volcano or in the wildy and edit that in. Looks better imo

Nice fake for a first, but I'm not a good rater. Effort gets 10/10 for sure though

No offense, but it does look horrible. I've done some fakes, not many, by using Paint. Paint shouldn't be an excuse for it not looking good. Listen to what Lamborgini said. Always save as a .PNG so you can always redo your work, it doesn't distort pixels like .JPG. It is very very noticeable that you just pasted the text on there. The lava doesn't look real at all, it's just sold red. The person in the lava just looks like he is standing in it with his arm cut off. I'm not trying to be rude, but it needs to be redone big time.
