before anyone comes in shouting "you just want the whip nerfed you noob" please read the entire post

So far the whip is one of the most powerful, scratch that, THE most powerful weapon in the game. This has to change.

Jagex must seem to like pures, a kick a** weapon with medium level stats to obtain, not to hard for a pure to get to 70 attk and str nowadays.

The whip as it is is overpowered, fast weapons are supposed to be weak, not as good as a maul or 2h. look at claws, they also defy the weapon system, they're 2h but weak, yet fast. it should be more powerful then it already is. after all, one of them is just hanging at our side. but this topic is about the whip.

but the whip doesn't have to be weaker, no. it can have a quest requirement. now what quest do we know thats,

1. long
2. hard
3. challenging
4. a pure's worst nightmare

oh yeah... Legends Quest

after all, the whip is surely a legendary weapon, so it would make sense that only legends would know how to use it.

or, it may require a number of quests, life Fairy Tale Pt.1, to know the natural habitat of the demon that drops it. maybe Zammy Mage miniquest, to better understand the odd place that is the abyss.

thats all to my suggestion/rant, so don't expect anything else

i have to say i dissagree big time. whip has hard enough requirments. 70 attack is hard to achieve for most people. and think about how many people would quit their membership becuase pure couldn't use whips.....

Whip is not best weapon... Dharoks Great Axe is....
Whip can hit up to what? 34 or sumthing... Dharoks great axe like 60 if ur potted with 99 str and prayer....

Anyway...
Lots and lots of members r mostly non questers... They all just train atk and str and go to pest control....
So why make over 40,000 members get 112 qp or w/e u need???
It will take about 19 days to complete half the quests if theyre hard enough member quests...
I dont think ppl would want to waste 19 days of their life just completing quests!!!
So why torcher these poor poor bums who play rs just for this crap?!

LOL you should really do some research before you post, dharocks is'nt the best and the max hit is 110.
I kinda disagree to getting 70 attack was really hard for me but looking back at it, it seems easy, also I hated caughing up 1.6mil 2 times after high alching a whip accidently.

whip is better the dh gr8 axe in terms of speed. and the max hit with axe is 100 on ghost.

1. dharoks only does those 60's when it has the full set, not all but helm, but the full set

Clearly you are either an idiot, or a f2per who doesn't have any clue what he's talking about. Not afraid to say both though.

First of all, whips are not overpowered. They are extremely hard to get, do you know how much time and work it takes for a person to get 85 slayer? It has to be worth it, or else no one will do it.

Second, legends quest? That's ridiculous. It has nothing at all to do with slayer, abyssal demons or even the weapon itself. If it needs a quest requirement, they need to create a new quest which goes with it. But even that is a bad idea. So why do it at all, no, the whip is not overpowered, and no it does not need some sort of requirement. It's good as it is now

Jagex: We changed the requirements for being able to wield/use the abbysal whip.

"What? i need to get almost all my skills up to do those quests! "

I'm slow in training my attack, i need to get like 100k more xp until 70 attack, and if the quest requirements are added, then I'd feel like i worked 2 months for nothing (makin money (in runescape) is slow for me, especially dodging barterers, scammers, or simply annoying hypocrites, and i can't play runescape during weekdays )
