Full Version: Gift Giving :d

Dear players,

recently in a chat channel my friend Qudeb (an f2p player) suggested the idea of gift giving.

Due to the new updates gift giving between players is soon to be nerfed for older players and has been nerfed for all new players.

My friend Qudeb and i have come up with an idea.

Our idea is this.

We would like to see a gift exchanging shop where players can buy suitable gifts for people they want to give gifts to.

(p2p only)

These gifts will be special, untradeable, similar to quest items they can only be destroyed not dropped [although nobody would do this :'-(] and if lost (destroyed) the player who recieved the gift can go back to the gift shop and get another)

Both Qudeb and i are hoping that some time and creativity will be spent on this.

We are hoping that a vast range of gifts will be made.

Firstly we want to see special gifts for players who achieve lvl 99 in skills.

Perhaps you can buy a golden fishing rod for your friend who recently achieved 99 fishing, or a crystal pestle and mortar for your friend who achieved 99 herblore.

Your friends can then show off these items in their house or in the street (remember they can't be traded nor dropped nor lost.)

That's only the 99 skills covered.

Perhaps if your friend got a combat level of 100 you can buy him a special decorative mace and shield that can be hung up.

Or they achieved a skill total of 1000, now you can buy them a special orange tapestry that denotes their achievement and it can be hung up in their house. These tapestries would rise from 1000 to 2200 with different colours and patterns from 1.1k to 1.2k to 1.3k etc etc - all the way to 2.2k (of course this would change as more skills come out biggrin.gif)

So yes, that's all of the suitable achievements that i can think of right now (off the top of my head).

Feel free to join my clan chat (h_2_o_w_n) and talk about this idea there or post here.

Thanks, you're opinions and ideas are welcome!

It will never replace what we had before with gift giving, but it'll be an alright replacement I reckon.

Looks nice. I support smile.gif.

Maybe have the name of the person that gave it to you when you examine it?
WARfrog
I support to.

Not only this would encourage f2p to switch to p2p we will get better updates cause jagex would be Filthy rich wub.gif

pure genious (no sarcasm)

Maybe for low levelers you can give painted wooden shields which are slightly better than wooden shields. You can paint them in whatever specified design displayed.

Dang didn't read the P2P part

in that case here's a suggestion

You can put it in a box, and when the person recieves the box, SURPRISE! the box will be replaced by the present you gave.

The examine should be like one of the following:

"This is from (insert username)"
"A box given by (insert username)"
"(insert username) gave you this box"
"From:(insert username), To YOU"
"A fine gift from (insert username)"

Supported, great idea - very well thought out yes.gif

I dont know if that would work. Plus I think jagex needs to lay low and not do many updates for a while.
