With this new update all I've really seen is whine whine whine.
"This sucks."
"Ruined RS."
"Glad I stopped paying/playing."

How about... Why?

What I've seen thus far has been rant after rant after rant about how terrible it all is. But why?
What would make it better? And I don't want to hear the only suggestions I've seen thus far again...
"Take it all away."

In this thread, I would like to see some actual thought-out suggestions about how to improve the current state Runescape has put itself in. Let's pretend for a moment you OWN runescape.
What would you have done differently? What can you suggest?

I'd like, if I may, to amass suggestions, and actually send them to Jagex personally.
Any actually thought-out ideas/suggestions put in here, I'd like to put together in a quote on this post, and after a little while, send it in, and see if anything happens.

How can they fix the "problems"?
Why are they problems?

My own suggestions:

Grand Exchange - Take away the Min/Max bid. Maybe make an "average bid" as a guideline, but the way it is right now is only going to bring prices down on items it shouldn't. The highest you can sell a D Scim for right now is 96k. With the 3k difference limit, they're basically telling us that the store that THEY made, which sells it for 100k, is essentially scamming us. And Rune Plates are 40k? Once again, the Runescape store which sells them, is scamming us. Shame on you Jagex, scamming us like that.

Wilderness - I have nothing to say really, I don't pk. I'm not even fully sure just WHAT has changed. I'll leave this to you, the people.

Drops/Trades - 3k difference limit? If you want a limit on something like this, make it something more like, 50k, or something. Cuz honestly, If I'm selling a White Party hat, I'm not wanting to be restricted to 327m-333m. That just feels... wierd. The drop thing I see no real problem with personally. You have no reason to be dropping expensive junk, aside from drop parties, which can be accessed through the party room. If the part room's p2p only, make it for f2p too. That'd be my only suggestion there.

Please keep in mind that I'm not putting this here so you can disagree with what I say, I'm putting it here so you can disagree in an orderly manner with what Jagex says. Please do not knock anyone else's suggestions, all are valid. Some may be more intuitive than others, but no well-meaning suggestion is a dumb suggestion. Thank you for reading, and hopefully contributing.

This is, as stated above, not a debate. This is for suggestions purposes. If you wish to elaborate/help out another person's idea/suggestion, feel free to do so, but again, no putting anyone down.
Thanks.

(If mods feel this is in the wrong area, please move it. If it's already been done... dang... wasted all that time and effort typing this up... T___T )

for the grand exchange, prices should not be calculated daily, this would prevent a steep price drop. the time between each calculation should be different for items, separated into categories such as high demand, low demand, medium demand. this way, it would allow the grand exchange to stabilize when everyone starts using it.

as for the others, i have not tested any at the moment. so i am not qualified to suggest anything.

I like your suggestion junk. It would make price drops on a lot of items become a lot less... drastic.

One thing I've been thinking on, is this whole Bounty hunter thing. Honestly, I haven't seen any more than MAYBE 20 people actually going for "Bounty Hunter" status. Everybody's being all rogue about it.
I think they should make it so that the wilderness is still a free-for-all, where you kill a guy, you get his drops. Maybe stick with that nobody else can see the drops, and after 3 minutes or whatever, they disappear. It's your kill, it's your loot.
And Make Bounty Hunter just Bounty Hunter. Or fix it in some way so that killing someone who isn't your mark is a little less appealing. Like, say, attack a guy/girl who's not your mark, and the game acts as though they have a permanent "of recoil" attached to them, making it so that you're actually being punished in a way for going off your own mark. Being as it is now, I can easily go kill a guy, then hide in the center for a few minutes waiting to leave, especially in a not-so-full world, where everybody is just safing, looking for a quick and easy kill.

I would like to see them bring pking back.

You could make it to wear you could only bring combat items in the wild or something like that, but taking away the wild altogether is going a bit overboard.

The duel arena should have the staking cap removed. A solution could be that you have to stake with in 10-20% of what other person is staking/trading.
Adman
I like both of your ideas, very nice.
It's true, they COULD only allow combat items into the wilderness. It'd be just like the Bounty Hunter area, so far as coding goes.
And the staking idea would work nicely as well.
Impressive. =D
Yuri
Why make all the wild like bounty hunter though? you saud yourself the code would be practicaly the same =p

As for the dtaking, that wouldnt remove unbalanced trades as you could simple stake 10m each and the gold seller would ensure they lost.

What I meant was that so far as coding goes, all they'd really have to do, is apply lines of code which disallow bringing items that are not combat-related into the wild to, say, the wilderness ditch. That way, if you try to cross the ditch with items which are not clue scroll related, or combat-related, it just doesn't let you.
They'd also have to apply the same code, though, I suppose to certain spells in the ancient magic book (I believe), as well as the switch in Ardougne.
Makes it slightly more complicated now that I think of it, but it's still a possibility. I still think it'd be better than not being able to pk at all.
Adman
Ooh. I had an idea for staking in the Duel Arena.
What if they used the same sort of idea as the unbalanced trade, and make it so you can't do an "Unbalanced Duel"?
I.E. you can only duel someone 5 levels higher/lower than yourself. (Lvl 50 can duel anyone between lvl 45-55)
This would ensure that a gold-selling lvl 3 can't give the goods to most players. The only people who could take advantage would be pure skillers, still level 3. Granted, it'd still make gold-selling technically possible, but not in any way truly profitable, as the amount of pure-skillers who would actually utilize such services is likely not too high.
Just an idea.

Also. A point I'd like to make on the current and future state of RS.

I've noticed over the last few days that I've enjoyed RS more in it's current state than I have in a long long time. "He's crazy" I hear you say. Nay, compadre, nay.
When I first joined RS, it was a place where saying you wanted to buy 200k Willow logs... would just get you laughed at. Nobody had that amount of logs. What kind of no-life freak has that amount of logs, anyway?
Well, over the years, there came a type of all-too-well-known no-lifer, we call the autoer. These people amassed hundreds of thousands of materials which we, the people, get bored of getting ourselves. They sell them at deflated prices, because to them it's completely worth it.
Do you know what I had to do to get good levels when I joined RS near the beginning? I had to team up with friends, I had to gather materials myself, and I had to have a decent clan if I wanted to get anywhere fast. The thing is, with autoers around, all anyone with a decent amount of money had to do, is go to a designated buy/sell world (i.e. world 1/2) and say "Buying (insert material and gold amount)" and bam, you got yourself a cool 200k logs, or whatever it is you were in need of.
Who is it that's quitting right now? Quitting the game because of these updates I mean.
In my opinion, it's the people who always take the easy route. You're taking the easy route by quitting, first off. The people who quit because of this, in general, are those who are angered that they might actually have to do some work, so far as gathering their own supplies. Maybe you'll have to mine your own rune essence. I know what your thinking "Mine my OWN essence? That's a huge waste of my time!"
Well guess what. Now that the autoers ain't doin' it for ya, there's not many people left who'll be so quick to sell it to you for the prices you're used to.
Material prices will go up. Because the amount of them in-game has dropped significantly. Mainly because the autoers aren't doing their thing anymore.
In the next few months you will see less and less high-end trades, so far as these materials go. You may just have to go and fish for some sharks yourself, pity the thought.

(I'd like to point out that I mentioned that this is a generalization. I realize there are other reasons people quit, i.e. pking = altered severely. Please don't take my opinion personally)

Adman don't double post. It was probobally an accident anyway.

bounty hunter, the trading limit and drop trading has ruined runescape.
I love going into the wildy but whats the point when you dont have the thrill of danger as you attack the greater deamons or take on the lava maze and have some random killing you where now you have these annoying ghost like things roaming around the place that paralize you its just like wtf mate?!?

First of all they're called revenants, and second, according to a friend of mine, s/he said s/he spent 20 minutes trying to kill one (it was a lvl 120) and this is the thing s/he gets:
Spoiler - the very reward s/he gets(great time to do a drum roll):
53 GP!

P.S. That friend was lvl 101...I think, but it true!

Other than that, no real suggestions
