Let me correct you guys on some things.

Fake servers, aka private servers do not have fake items. Everything on the server is real and directly from the game. There are also some things that have not yet been released, such as a 4th Mjolnir, the Zaros Mjolnir, and the Blood and Soul Tiara for RCing.

However, telling people to not use them at all is abit harsh, especially since most of us here use them.

The main thing I tell people about using Private Servers is to practice safety.

1. Do not use your real runescape username and password, as creators of servers have access to User-logs which contain the Private server user's Private-Server-Username and Private-Server-Password, as well as everything in their Private Server bank.

Using your Real Runescape Name can result in you getting hacked, so be smart and use a different name.

2. Private Servers are not illegal in any way shape or form. If they were, logic dictates that we'd all be arrested or IP banned from RuneScape for playing them.

The more you know about Private Servers, the more you see that they are simply a way for people who do not wish to pay for members to see what members has to offer, as well as providing creative people with a way to learn Java coding and to create their own skills and such on a private server.

I wouldn't say most of us here use them, that's just going a bit overboard. Private servers are simply boring, and isn't anywhere near getting a taste of P2P, as you can just type in some codes and get/do whatever you want.

I don't really understand why you come here to RuneCrypt to post all your pre-typed posts for us to discuss things we and everyone else have discussed before.

I do agree with the fact that it shouldn't be called illegal though, as it doesn't really affect the real game(or anything in that case) at all.

You also said "t me correct you guys on some things.", even though that post is mostly copied from Runescape.com, except for the short writing outside the quote-code.

DID JOO EVER TINK DAT MITE BE OLD?
Idiot.

You want to be all cool like on this site, you aren't.

Jagex says they are illegal so runecrypt says it too, end of discussion.
saying the items are real is pointless and confusing also, they are just real in the private server, in other words, fake. mellow.gif

Bliz sums this up well... anyone admitting to using a private server on RC will recieve a warn or ban. Guess what that means for you, bud?

In the same way that Jagex takes trips to many 3rd world countries to arrest the sweatshop runners? It is breaking copyright laws, and therefore is not something that we here at RC cheer gleefully about.

Just a quick note on the legality of private servers, this can be found in the Runescape Terms and Conditions:

QUOTE
Jagex® and RuneScape® are registered trade marks of Jagex Limited in the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries.

You must not reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the Game client software in any way. You must not use a modified/customised version of the client software. You must not create or provide any other means by which the Game may be played by others (including, without limitation, replacement or modified client/server software, server emulators).

In other words, it IS illegal to run/use private servers as you are infringing upon Jagex intellectual property rights. If anyone wishes to chat about this further, you can PM me on the site.
