1) Introduction:
This is my guide to farming. I am not saying that this is the best way to level or make money. This is just how I got to 99 farming.
Farming At A Glance
2) Nature amulet
Amulets of Nature of player made. None tradable once enchanted.
You can bind it to any patch. It will hum as long as you are wearing it or it is in your inventory. This indicates that the patch is ready to harvest or has become diseased. If it has become diseased then you can teleport directly to the patch.
3) Farming amulet
Looks identical to the Amulet of Nature. You bind it to an Allotment or Flower patch. Similar to the Amulet of Nature it will warn you if the patch becomes diseased. It has 8 charges which when used will teleport you to the assigned patch.
These are purchased from a farm shop for 200gp each.
4) What to wear

Boots of lightness to help you run for longer, gloves to protect you when you pick your Belladonna, Dueling ring to teleport to the Duel arena, easy to pick cactus spines and to get the glider to the Gnome Stronghold, finally Amulet of Nature - which you will have bound to a patch.

3) Mushroom (I use the Fairy Rings to harvest this patch)
4) Spirit (Rare seeds but I always plant at Port Sarim)
6) Making compost:
On every run I make super compost. I would highly recommend you do this also. You can make compost at any level. So when you are on your allotment run I suggest going around once with buckets (make sure your leprechaun has enough space to hold 60 buckets of compost so that you have enough inventory space for your harvested items). Then once you have finished the run. Go around again with 4 more flower seeds and items for making compost / supercompost. You will then get 2 lots of flowers and your compost bin will be full for your next run.
Not only does this ensure you always have compost - but you will end up with too much. Super compost can sell for around 500 gp each.
If you are unsure what items can be used to make compost, use an item on the farmer at a farming patch. If it is not possible to use it then it will say "Nothing interesting happens". Otherwise the farmer will let you know if it is suitable for compost or super compost.
