There's not really a contest at all. Ocarina of Time basically set the bar for Zeldas to come. And also, why didn't you put the original Legend of Zelda in your poll? And you should of had Oracle of the Ages accompany Oracle of the seasons.

and the original man those slipped my mind

Ocarina was definatly the starting point for the "more modern" zelda games.
If you had a worst Zelda game contest, the CD-i games would win without a doubt.

Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are equals in my mind, only difference is time period so Oot has a slight advantage, but Wind Waker by far had the most fun overworld. Can't believe you forgot it. I haven't played Majora's Mask, so I can't judge it.

Wind Waker's overworld
fun?
It wasn't terrible but I found endlessly sailing on the ocean to be a little boring at the best of times. Being able to teleport around with via the cyclones was a gift from the heavens for me. The occasional giant orctok (Sp?) fights were a nice way to break up the monotomy though, that and shooting seagulls with the cannon.
I'm torn between OOT, it did set the bar for later Zelda games in the series and was overall a very fun game, OOT Master Quest was also pretty fun. Twilight Princess I liked just as much though, I enjoyed the story, characters and various dungeon puzzles immensely.
Majora's Mask was pretty fun with the various transformation masks (Deku Link

) but having to reset time constantly became a real nuisance, especially when starting later dungeons, only to reach the boss and realise the moon is about pancake everyone.
OOT and TP for me, though perhaps TP moreso.

I'm talking about discovering all the unknown islands and exploring each one. It just had a good feel to it.

OoT is the best for its time without any doubt.
Must say I like TP also, but it just wasn't as original any more..
Majora's mask was also pretty good, but the moon part did suck.
Wind waker had good parts too, but the endless sailing was indeed boring as hell and besides that it seemed a bit too childish for me..
Silver
Jun 30 2008, 05:28 PM
OoT was probably my favorite, just because you can play that game for hours and not completely finish it.
Although Majora's Mask is a close second. Idk what you guys are talking about. You just do the sprint mode of Majora's Mask.
You only reset the moon twice. You beat the game in 72 minutes.

Jul 1 2008, 02:28 AM
OoT remade on the GameCube with the harder setting and better graphics. Then Wind Waker.
ents stole my baxe!
Jul 4 2008, 07:57 AM
Majora's mask is so far may favorite to date, the bomber's notebook gave you a sense of progression as you tried to find every mask (not essential to the core story, but the intricacy of it made you want to.)
QUOTE(Silver @ Jun 30 2008, 10:28 AM)

What are you talking about? You reset the 3-day cycle
at least eight times if you want to do just the four dungeons alone, not trying to collect anything. I know, I have it on Gamecube.

I'm not sure what to choose, but it's between Ocarina and MM.
If I had to choose I'd probably pick MM because I liked collecting / using the masks, using the different forms, and finding the fairies. Plus I liked how it was shorter so I could do sidequests and how I should get as much money as I wanted by shooting that stupid bird. I didn't think the time function was bad; it didn't really affect me, plus I was cool to see how things change as you went backwards / forwards in time.
So yeah, MM.

Ocarina of Time is by far the best Zelda. I think that Majora's Mask was a little too complex for an N64 game and the third boss seemed impossible but you could "skip" it.

Ocarina of Time

Majora's Mask was hard

When I first got it I always got a Game Over because of the time limit in the beginning.

I'd have to say ocarina of time. It had some of the best dungeon layouts in the series besides Majora's Mask. Majora's mask was slightly harder then Ocarina of Time, but mainly because of the dungeon's increasing size. I'd have to say that in Majora's Mask Stone Tower Temple was awesomely created. It can be flipped upside-down, so it had to have been a challenge creating it. Also in Twilight Princess, it was a very good game. The dungeons were fairly challenging, and the items you can use are also great. The downside of it is that they made it so you needed 5 pieces of heart for a heart container, which really annoyed me

especially since I'm only 2 away from all 20 hearts

Still, OoT was probably the best overall
Hands down Ocarina of Time, an excellent game, I was thinking of starting a new save file the other day actually, it's still really fun. And will keep you busy for hours and hours, with things to do on the side (such as killing those golden spiders, and getting the heart pieces).
Although the only other LoZ games I have played are Wind Waker (fully) and parts of Majora's Mask and TP (I don't own either but have played many hours of it round a friends house), all of which were fun, and the graphics on TP is incredible. Wind Waker is awesome, besides the sailing, the game is fun, I'm a tad iffy with the graphics, but it fits in well. Majora's mask I haven't played that much really, it seemed ok though.
So if I had to order the games (these are only ones which I have played) my list would be:
1. Ocarina of Time.
2. Twilight Princess.
3. Wind Waker.
4. Majora's Mask.

3rd would have to majoras mask, yeah it was hard, but i still had a ton of fun beating it...
without skipping the 3rd boss... lol i don't really like skipping things unless i've beat it
and don't want to hear people talking and reading again =P

I also need to bring something else up that I commonly do in OoT

More then often, I only beat the game up to water temple, then restart. Why? I'm scared of shadow temple

always have been, always will. I also have memorized the exact layout of Great Deku Tree, and I know the exact strategy to defeat each boss. I can even beat Bongo Bongo without the lens of truth

(I said i'm scared of shadow temple, never said anything about the boss

) And on that note, any boss that I have beaten in a Zelda game I know how to kill easily, except in majora's mask, they are too annoying. Ah well, thats all I can say

I'll do that in the morning. o yea, does anyone know it took me
5 YEARS to beat MM? yea, its true

I got bored around the 3rd dungeon, then i finally played is again and beat it 5 years later

I also skip forest temple every time in OoT, I always do Fire Temple first for the hammer

EDIT: It really isn't that hard to beat twinmold as Feirce Diety, just annoying to hit the tail. Now try to beat the 1st boss of MM

4 hits or 5 seconds he's dead

Has anyone played the Minish Cap? For some odd reason I loved that game. I've beaten three times. It is the only Zelda that I've ever replayed. Call me weird, but that is my second favorite Zelda game. I think Twilight Princess is my favorite. I'm contradicting myself now, but I really don't remember that much out of OoT. I never had any consoles as a young'un so I think it takes away some of the nostalgia. I remember TP so much more, and I kept playing Minish Cap, so those might be my top two.

Ocarina of Time, by far. Majora's Mask was a great game, quite challenging at points, but I liked it was well. I remember playing Majora's Mask the first time, and I used to get freaked out when Link puts on his main masks.
Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda game I bought and played, and I sometimes wish I never finished it as fast as I played it.

(Sadface). Ocarina of Time My favorite Zelda game and... best game ever IMO. Great, Great game. Nice graphics (For the N64) although now I play it on my wii (Virtual Console) nothing changed. It's a great game, I can play it over, and over again. Forest Temple is my favorite temple in the game. IT HAS GREAT MUSIC.
