I was thinking that since they are coming out with new graphics, it would be the perfect to make it a Runescape 3. I mean Runescape 2 has been around since like 2001 I believe? It would give lots of people the chance to start over, Not be a noob surrounded by people with 3 level 70's-110's, ect im sure you guys get the point lol. Im just trying to get the point across if that they going to do it ( which is going to have to be sooner or later) now would be the time. Maybe something Like Runescape-The Revival would fit lol. Becuase lately runescape has been eating dirt hardcore. A runescape 3 with re-set highscores, accounts, black-marks etc would just be lovely I think

It was the same with RS2, people could transfer their accounts from Classic to the new servers. That's because people will never give up their accounts, especially those who put in so much effort into them.

Maxumus, RS2 Beta came out in December2003, not 2001. I should know, I was still playing Classic back then. And in 2004 around March I think, it came out for free users, I was somewhat happy then. But anyways, no I wouldn't want an RS3 and start my account all over.



Fisher, I'm not sure if I'm reading wrong or not, but please correct me if so.

I remember when the transfer was happening. When I had my account transfered from "Classic" to RS2, my stats didn't restart, if that's what you are saying. In fact, when I transfered my account, I actually gained 2 combat levels and just about every skill I had stayed the same or raised up when the transfer was over. But the account in Classic turned into a level 3 and all stats were down to as if I just made a new account.

I don't know how that happened, as my character's kept their classic stats and gained the few combat levels on rs2 and I believe everyone else's characters didn;t have their classic stats reset.

lol well I mean like they will still have the current runescape like they did with classic. And you wouldn't transfer your account over. you would make a new account. so you could choose whether to play runescape 2 or 3.

theres no way i would start my account over...nobody would play a rs3 if they couldnt keep their acct

Are you kidding me? Wow, because when I transfered I was in my late 30's/early 40's in combat level. And when I logged back onto Classic I started back on Tutorial Island and I just recently got off it lol. Dang, something must be wrong with my account or something lol.

@making them seperate games: won't work either. The graphics will need to be completely different. such as that only a player-side client could offer, with a normal 3d engine that doesn't run on java.

I don't think there were any sane people who started again when Runescape 2 came out, but I do think that they should name the update "Runescape 3."

Runescape became v2 when they had a massive graphical update, so to it should go to v3 on another massive graphical update. (read the development diaries)

Runescape to Runescape 2 was not just a graphical update.

The whole game engine was changed, the whole game was completely recoded in their new form of runescript (their own customised form of java). All thats havppening here is the graphics are getting updated, this is hardly worth mentioning when compared to the Runescape to Runescape 2 update.
