We, the Forum Leaders responsible for the Goals and Statistics Forum, had thought about how to make this forum better, more active and helpful.
Many ideas came to our heads, such as the Achievement of the Month. Another thing that came to our mind was a guide for making a good Goals & Achievments topic of your very own!

Here we go:

Basically a G&A (Goal and Achievement) is a topic in which you show everyone what goals you want to achieve in Runescape and pictures of those achievements.

It seems easy but it may be complicated if you're not sure how to do it so we are going to give you some ideas and tips.

The normal structure of a G&A is:
1. Introduction
2. Goals
3. Achievements
4. Other

1. To avoid having a boring G&A based only on RuneScape, you can make a small introduction talking a bit of yourself, your runescape character, etc. The Introduction should also include a list of your skills. Instead of writing them or taking a screenshot, you can use a Skill Signature which will update automatically. You can find some of those Signatures here.

2. A G&A must have a goal section or it wouldn't be a G&A (it'd just be A). A goal is the level you want to get in a skill. It may also be a quest or an item you want to get. Although many people post the goals writing "level"/"goal" (for example: fishing - 40/60) the most attractive way to do this is using a Goal Signature. You can find these in various fansites or using Runecrypt's Progress bbcode. These Goal Signatures/Progress bbcode will not only show your level and goal (it updates your level automatically) as they will show a graphic on how close you are to complete a goal. If you have a big goal (such as a 99 stat) you can create a small part specifically to talk about that goal.

3. The purpose of having goals is to complete them. In the Achivement section you post pictures of you completing the goals (skills, quest or item) or even getting some good reward such as a monster drop, barrow reward or treasure trail. Some people prefer to only screen the chatbox saying you got a level, others prefer to screen the whole screen. It's up to you although it looks better with the full screen because it makes sure you didn't fake or rip it from someone else. Also, there are some people who only screen more important goals, others screen every level they get. It's also up to you but it may look more professional and complete to screen everything. Never forget to screen an important level!

4. To make your G&A more original and not so boring, why not add a video or a song for everyone to listen why they read it. Maybe put some funny moments with your friends or fakes you've made. Some people also put a Support List or pictures of donations made (although it's harder nowadays). All these small adds are not truly necessary but make it much better.

Other tips:

- Always put images inside the spoiler bbcode -

-Make your G&A colourful and original. For example, put any title inside a content box bbcode or centered. Use a different font than default, put some things in bold or with a different colour, add smileys, etc. It may seem useless but it'll be much better to read and not so boring

-To take a screenshot, press your Print Scrn key on the keyboard (normally it is above Insert key). Open Paint or any other Image Editing software and press Ctrl + V. Crop the image and save. To post it on the forums, upload it in a image upload site. For more detail on screenshotting click here

-Never forget to crop your images

-Avoid posting on your G&A every level you get. Either post on it when you get an important level or post once a week with all the levels you got on that week.
