Okay I had an idea a long time ago, and it was called art. Crafting plays a HUGE role in art as well.
You need to finish the quest Edible Art before starting this skill.
First of all, the first thing you can do to try this skill is sketching. There will be certain locations to try and sketch at, all requiring no levels such places include...
Varrock Museum (animal exhibits)
Ardougne Zoo
Fishing Platform
Abandoned Restaurant (must finish Edible Art)
Goblin Village
Gnomeball field
Ice Mountain
Canifis
There also should be some art shops here and there, mostly in large cities such as Ardougne or Varrock. The stores would stock charcoal, paper, pencil, eraser (or rubber), etc. However, none of these are open until after finishing the quest
Paintbrushes can either be store-bought, or hand-made (requires Yak hair, 1 arrow shaft, 1 bronze bar, and 10 crafting). Canvasses, however, must be hand made, as stores don't sell them. A small canvass requires 1 normal plank, a medium one requires 1 oak plank, a large one requires 1 teak, and a fancy canvass requires 1 mahogany. All canvasses require 1 paper. Also, the small one requires 10 crafting, medium requires 20, large requires 40, and fancy requires 60.
Paints simply require 1 plank, 1 blue dye, 1 red dye, 1 yellow dye, 1 blamish oil, and 10 crafting. The easels will not be obtainable, but they will be located in various locations (often the scenic ones). Each of them require a certain level, as shown here:
Level 10: Al Kharid, Port Sarim
Level 15: Wizard's Tower, Karamja Volcano, Tai Bwo Wannai
Level 20: Falador Castle, Varrock Palace, Ardougne Castle
Level 35: Lumbridge, your house, others' houses
Level 40: The Grand Tree, Paterdormous, Slayer Tower
Level 60: Lletya, Legend's Guild
These portraits CANNOT be used in Construction, with the exception of your house
By the time one reaches 99 Art, the person can speak to Art Critique Jacques in the Varrock Museum top floor
In construction, you can add either the Outdoor Easel station (requires 41 construction) or the Art Studio (Requires 52 construction).
The outdoor Easel station doubles as a garden, except the centerpiece can only be an easel, but there is a variety, the following requires:
Level 41: Plain Easel, requires 2 oak planks
Level 51: Teak Easel, requires 3 teak planks
Level 62: Mahogany Easel, requires 3 mahogany planks
Level 70: Gilded Easel, requires 3 mahogany planks and a gold leaf
Level 90: Rune Easel, requires 2 rune bars
Level 99: Crystal Easel, requires 1 building crystal
These cannot be flatpacked. Also this room is inaccesible until after finishing the quest
Also, in the studio:
Level 52: Potter's wheel, requires 2 oak planks, 1 limestone brick, 1 clockwork
Level 52: Clay Furnace, requires 10 clay
Level 52: Sculpting Hotspot, requires 1 steel bar
Level 52: Tool shelf, requires 1 oak plank, provides brown aprons
Level 63: Advanced Wheel, requires 3 teak planks, 1 steel bar, 1 clay
Level 64: Steel Furnace, requires 10 steel bars
Level 64: Advanced shelf, (updated version of tool shelf), 1 oak plank, provides paint pallette
None of these can be flatpacked, nor can the room be unlocked until after the quest
The Sculpting hotspot can let you make various sculptures in the following order
Level 30: Stale Bread Cube (Stale Bread dropped by Zombie Chefs, Unlocked in Edible Art, a quest)
Level 35: Sandstone Globe
Level 40: Sandstone Imp
Level 45: Limestone Globe
Level 50: Limestone Imp
Level 55: Sandstone Man/Woman
Level 60: Limestone Man/Woman
Level 65: Limestone Eagle
Level 70: Marble Globe
Level 75: Marble Imp
Level 80: Marble Man/Woman
Level 85: Marble Arrav
Level 90: Marble Zaros (finish Desert treasure first)
Level 95: Marble Richard The Strong (finish A tail of two cats first)
Level 99: Marble Self-sculpture (No armour included)
For Every creation made, exp. is earned, except in making canvasses. Construction and Crafting is raised instead.
Also, for every piece of art given to Art Critique Jacques, an additional 100 exp is given, however he does not accept sketches. If a sketch is given to a resident there, you will get a random amount of gp, between 1gp and 25gp
These seem very much like crafting, so do not imply that. It's just that I can't leave this idea to rot. Any suggestions are welcome
