Basically, it's PvP everywhere, anything can be taken by force, so if you see a player with a nice mount you can kill him and take the mount, any city can be destroyed etc etc.

Imo, if it can be pulled off with everything they promised it will be the best MMO out there.

Opinions?

Hmm, I can't remember the last time a non-franchise MMO has been a success; with perhaps the exception of RS. Games like WoW and others usually have deep back stories and this doesn't seem to have one.

Edit: Ignore that, I have quite clearly forgotten the success of Guild Wars and the obvious failures of Star Wars: Galaxies, but still, the storyline will be alien to many and unless they have many good writers it will be a real problem for them. There is also the chance that it may end up being 'similar' to other MMOs.

The graphics don't 'amazing', merely mediocre, but presumably it's still in beta stages. Also with the upcoming releases of WAR and WOTLK it seems unlikely that this will take off. This of course depends on the release date and the success of forementioned games.

Many casual and casually hardcore MMO players will be put off by the all world PVP aspect and these players make up a vast majority of MMO players and as such the offered gameplay will be extremely selective.

As for building cities, boats, etc. surely this would be a massing drain on the game's servers, if of course the game is a success?

That aside, if everything promised does work as they say then there will be those few 'MMO-jumpers' who will spend some time on it.

Who's developing/publishing it?

this actually really reminds me of a bunch of ideas that a friend and I put together for if we would ever make an mmo. We thought that being able to steal other players items, destroy cities, build cities, kill any npc cept the really important ones, etc would be good.

It looks great.

I think it's the concept that will excite people. The fact that it's trying to represent a life that is remotely feasible in reality by the fact that there isn't any real restrictions make it interesting to say the least?

I don't know its release date but I'll certainly be checking out it's news from time to time.

True enough, and as an avid MMO fan I'll be sure to check it out. I just worry about global success due to the World PVP aspect, if of course they release 'friendlier' servers in addition to the normal ones there may be greater success.
