What do you 'Crypters think of Battlefront II? I love it, I have it for PC and the Addon maps are amazing....
Nick
Just saw this old topic so excuse the bump.

I got I and II for PS2 and I'm a pretty big fan of them, mostly because they're one of the few shooters I have. Pretty good games, AI could be a lot smarter when it comes to tactical things and like not walking into friendly fire all the time i meant.gif

The AI in the original Battlefront was just plain terrible. Hard Mode was more like they're-not-as-retarded mode. Battlefront I had a lot to be desired, but the Instant Action mode had so much replay value that you kept playing. Even though it was a bit on the easy side, I still found myself in situations where I'm being overrun, and I either have to bunny hop out of there or I would die to fast.

Battlefront II added so much more. I love this game. Many people complain that the Heroes system is buggy, but I never had any problems with it. Maybe they mean it was too easy? Basically whenever you get a Hero vs. Computer you can pretty much destroy everything. The only way you would probably ever die is if you ran out of the lightsaber meter. The AI is a tad bit better, but Heroes tend to just sit around and have a beer.

But Add-On maps are truly amazing. thumbsup.gif

I love the add-ons. Dann_Boeing, Majin Revan, Xavious....those three are the best. Lol, have you seen Dann's Jingletown Map? That one's completely awesome, except for the fact that if you get run over by a drunk driver, you die, and the snowballs are like, explosive.

SWBFII is my favorite, but then again, it's my only game (besids RuneScape and a really, really old LotR game called "battle for Middle-Earth; that one works half the time and needs a complete computer reboot afterwards, as well as killing my internet.) The heros are a bit over-powered in Instant Action, but online they're amazing. I've often had a hero rush me, and then I raise my rocket launcher and BOOM, headshot....

Plus the kit that lets you design maps is simple and easy to use, and lets you do some pretty creepy stuff (Dann's maps, for example, are probably the only ones where you stand a chance of getting sniped by John Lenon)

The only thing that bothers me is the inexplicable little icon that keeps flashing in the lower-right of my screen, signalling a "fatal error in the core drive" or something, but it's never been anything more than a nuisance. Is that part of the game, or just my computer?
