I've spent about a month so far in egypt, and I recently head this...
The president of Egypt, Hosny Mubarak, outlaws anyone to speak against him, or even not approve of his quality as president. Anyone who is caught doing this is taking to a facility and...Tortured to an extent...I'm not really sure if the president makes these laws or if it applies to every president, But I think It most likely Hosny Mubarak's Idea
There is re-election for president every 5 years, but police officers change everyone's vote to Mubarak, anyone who denies that gets arrested. Anyone who tries to speak gets arrested, anyone who tries to revolt gets arrested...

It's called organization.
Get not a small group, but anyone and everyone you can get, equip them with weapons, (guns possibly)
and revolt until he understands that his life too will cease to live on forever, unlike some of the Egyptian Pharaohs.

problem with that is guns are outlawed there, and the police, or as I like to say, Hosny's Henchmen, are the only people who have weapons, they are usually equipping rifles and assault rifles.

No you Otter.
So, hold on Sonic, if this is the case, does this mean all the phones, computers, whatever that have outside communications with the world are tapped and being listened in on and viewed?

No, they don't have such technology

and I wouldn't have posted this topic, runecrypt is the website I'd least expect the police to visit.

Sounds like Egypt government is using Coercion and Submission.
Coercion by giving the police force way more power and strength than the people.
Submission by taking anyone speaking up under arrest, thus forcing others to stay quiet in fear of being arrested.
So, sounds like you guys need some outside help.

When no one has guns, only the police, the police are on the presidents side which is bad. I don't see and way to fix the problem until another president is elected.

Aug 23 2008, 08:16 PM
thats the problem though, the police change everyone's vote

Aug 23 2008, 08:28 PM
Can they not vote?
sonic718
Aug 23 2008, 08:56 PM
yeah they can vote...every 5 years there's an election and Mubarak can run for re election every time. The problem is though, after everyone's voted the police go in the ballot boxes and change everyone's vote to Mubarak and there's nothing they can do about it.

Wow, I didn't know about that.
Not knowing much about politics, I won't make any ideas, to save myself from being told to gtfo

But It sounds like Egypt needs rules on re-election, but people don't live forever, his reign can't last forever.

Hence my point in the first post I made here.
He needs to realize he isn't some pharaoh that will live forever, he will die one day, and many people will be happy most likely.

Exactly, good point.
Make a rebellion and don't vote, make no one vote.

There is also another problem with that...Some idiots actually support Mubarak so if no one votes but them, he still wins.

Aug 24 2008, 07:40 AM
Does the majority of people not like him?
Cause it is possible (although not supported by me) that you could hold them, kidnap, comprehend or in some way keep them from voting.
But in this case, I"m not sure what happens if no votes are made, so many possibilities could come into play, like the police voting for him, you can't stop them when they have ARs pointing at your face.

exactly like portugal until 34 years ago but we had creative tortures.
Sad to see there are still countries like that. We solved our problem with a military revolution.

Normally such rulers have fascist/dictatorials partids and if it happens to die someone with the same thoughts will replace. Our dictator fell off a chair and died 2 years later

Ok I just got more info on the current problem...It's bad, Even if no one votes in the election the police use people's names and send in a vote, They even use Names of people who are deceased and they still get counted. And The worse news is, his son is running for president after Mubarak dies.

http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/NO_UDo not post spam like this. It's useless; it doesn't help the discussion at all. Do this on Runescape Chat or something else. I'm just going to give you guys a verbal warning for now.
This kind of thing is not uncommon at all. In fact, throughout Africa many countries are run under totalitarian regimes. In fact, I believe TIME (or some other major news magazine) releases a list of worst dictators each year, and it's always littered with African countries.

Please stop saying 'oh hold a rebellion and see how that goes'. Its not funny, and its annoying as hell. If someone assumes a dictatorship, that person has total control. A rebellion would not come close to succeeding.

I'm never one to support the more violent ideas, I will suggest them though.
However nothing I have said so far will work with this situation, so this is going to have to be one of those, gets resolved in time, deals.
Unless Iron Man makes a move or something. Anyone hear Assassination?
