I was wondering....what do you 'Crypters think of the RS Gods? What is Guthix's origin? Are the Elder-dragons real? How did Zamorak become a god? Let's debate.

I considered putting it in RS chat, but really, it is a debate. It's different than most debates you see here in only two ways:

1. It's about RuneScape. (There's no rule against making RS-related debates.)

2. I don't give any issue to debate. Instead, you post your theories and we'll debate them.

If there are no issues to debate, then there is no debate. Topics are generally posted with an issue. Otherwise, we could just have a debate topic and debate whatever is in that topic. This topic will die anyways; it's been posted hundreds of times. I will leave it open in any case.

Do you know what RPG means? Let's assume, just for this topic, that the RS gods are real, and that we live in RuneScape. Now can we debate?

You want an issue? Alright, here's one:

How did Zamorak attain godhood? Guthix, in one of his letters, said that gods only exist if they have followers. Guthix's followers are the natural things like trees and grass, so he doesn't need human ones. Zamorak has hordes of zombies and undead creatures to worship him. But he wasn't always a god; he was once something called a Mahjarrat. Mahjarrat are a tribe of supernatural creatures from the land of Frenaskrae, which I believe is now known as the Wilderness. There is another Mahjarrat, Zemouregal, who tried to become a god by covering the world with zombies, but he was defeated by Arrav.

The Wilderness is still populated by lesser creatures of Frenaskrae - zombies, sekletons, ghosts, giants, black kinghts, and, most of all, revenants - and these creatures still support Zamorak and help him maintain godhood.

So I say Zamorak became a god because he aquired enough supporters. Who agrees/disagrees with me? There's an issue to discuss.

And DO NOT say "He's a god cause Jagex made it like that, ur a nub to say otherwise," that's NOT what this topic is about!

Okey guys, there's nothing wrong with discussing things that are fictional. So I'll reopen the topic but I want no more flames otherwise I will start handing out warnings.

I don't pretend to know much of anything about any of the Runescape gods, but I did dessert treasure, the ghostly robes mini quest, shadow sword, all that stuff so I guess I have the full background on Zaros... And thats the one I'd follow if I bothered... Apperently theres going to be something happening that brings him back into the game too, something having to do with this "Summer's End" quest... I became f2p before the quest came out but a friend of mine mentioned that you enter The Void, which is where Zaros ended up... All just boredom and conspirousy theory put together in my case
Btw, anyone know what Zaros is the god of while I'm busy talking about him? Apperently the Jagex Mod that designed dessert treasure went on the forums say specifically that he was not the god of evil.... but didn't say anything else, so I'm just kind of curious.... and bored..... and have nothing better to do......

And what's the Void? Sorry, but I'm F2p, so I have no clue.

The Void is the Spirit Realm of Runescape, where the quests Spirit of Summer and Summer's end mostly take place. The Void is the home of spirits, including the dreaded Spirit Beast, which you must face in Summer's End. Also, it provides a great training place if you're willing to go to lvl 52 wildy Almost died there once ftl...

The Void is apperently something between the actual world (where all the cities and everything are) and the Abyss (which is whats in between the actual world and other realms).
You get to go into it for a short time during Summer's End and its pretty wierd.... Just an endless plane of white light.... Not somewhere I would ever want to be stuck....

All I know is armadyl and saradomin are friends
Zamorak stole some of of the power of the great Zaros(who totally pwns) through armadyl's staff.
Now Zaros wants to do this.
