I am neutral in this discussion, yet I can give pro's and con's about them.

Pro's
-Uranium, their primary fuel, is fairly common
-releases no greenhouse gases
-somewhat cheap
-Produces lots of power

Con's
-Uranium, their primary fuel, can cause cancer
-large quantities of water required
-creates some water pollution
-may suffer a meltdown (causing an explosion sometimes about as big as Hiroshima's fate)

It would be a bad idea, considering that we still live in Earth, and we dont want to destroy it yet, but it is going to be destroyed in the end anyway.

i think its good because it produces a TON of energy, with proper safety maneuvers you can avoid alot of your cons, and as the years pass it gest alot cleaner

I love nuclear power. It's safe, clean and efficent. It's even better than not nuclear power. Great!

That is not necessarily a 'pro'.

if you mean by the sun exploding etcetera then, you never know maybe in the future (when were dead) they might create a shield around the around what like sends out light and heat and (when needed) sends out cold and for water and oxygen there's 2 solutions:
1. DON'T KILL THE PLANTS MAN! PEACE TO THE WORLD YOU KNOW MAN...
2. chain your-self to a tree with other hippies and SAVE THE RAIN FOREST!

as for water:

The most dangerous Nuclear Power disaster ever caused less than 50 immediate deaths. Even if you counted the 4,000 or so estimated cancer deaths [WHO], this is still less than the number of people killed by coal mine collapses or natrual gas explosions. The only reason it seems scary is because it's new, mysterious and complicated.

Millions of people who don't think the world will end one day?

We are polluting the earth with cars, factories, greenhouse gases, unbiodegradable products like plastic water bottles, things in landfills. Not to mention the sun dieing out and exploding, or a meteor heading this way. (not anytime soon)

Thats what you believe. Just because you believe it doesn't mean that everybody else does, or that it is the final truth. Not to start an argument, but that is being unthoughtful and slightly discriminatory to other peoples.

To nuclear power, the cleanest energy source! Except solar, but that's just a pipe dream!


You say it like we'll WANT to eventually.

When the sun's life 'ends' the Sun will start to fuse helium into heavier elements and begin to swell up, ultimately growing so large that it will swallow the Earth. After a billion years as a red giant, it will suddenly collapse into a white dwarf. This is what stars do.
