I decided to finally install Msn Messenger on my new computer, but i've already come to a few road blocks.

Trying to install Windows Live Messenger I get the error 0x80070643 which is a fatal error and the program can't install. Someone suggested Pidgin, but trying it, the layout is ugly and I don't like it overall so I uninstalled it. Another person suggested Digsby, and it looked cool so I went to install it, but all it said was that it couldn't install for some reason.

I'm getting frusterated with the whole thing. I've seen small things about Windows Office 2007 programs causing problems, but would those cause my problem? Are there any better Messaging programs?

I'm running windows vista home premium.

Are you trying to install the beta version of the latest one? I've got home premium on the lastest (non-beta) messanger and don't seem to have the problem.
