Well, yesterday when I came home, I turned on my monitor and it wouldn't turn on at all. So I rebooted my computer and went to play the drums for 30 minutes. When I cam back, it was still on the compaq screen so I was thinking it was fried. I rebooted again and it worked fine. So then I clicked on Firefox and it said dmy internet wasn't working. I rebooted my computer again thinking it was just a computer problem. I went back onto FF and it said the same thing, and I couldn't use the internet. But the weird thing is, I can use IE and get on the internet but not FF. I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening and what I can do do fix it.

Edit: Okay, not sure what my dad did, but finally he figured out a way that made FF work. So this topic can be closed now. eep.gif

Try to re-install it. Works most of the time.
Matt
Tools > Options > advanced > network > settings.

Follow that path - tools is located on the menu bar.
See if there's any sort of proxy entered in there. If there is then copy past or screen-shot the info here.

Assuming theres nothing there, Reinstalling FF or resetting all of its settings back to default would also be a good place to start. Check to make sure whatever firewall your using is granting firefox access to the internet.

Okay Matt, I didn't have a proxy from what I saw so I tried to re install FF2 because that's what I use. But when I re installed it, it still didn't work. Any other options I can do?
RaDave
check see if you have any stupid add ons that come with installers, sounds completly noobish but i had an add on which just slowed ff down so badly it timed out each page.

I'm not sure if it is an add on RaDave, but I just followed a video on Youtube on how to 100% wipe away Firefox from my computer. I went to My Computer and removed FF, and then I went to the address bar on My Computer and typed in %appdata% which brought me up to the application data, and from there I deleted my firefox folder. The I typed in %programfiles% and I deleted the Mozilla Firefox folder under there as well. The guy said this should wipe away FF completely, so even if it was an add on, it should be gone. But for some reason when I reinstalled FF....once again it still didn't work. I'm totally out of options on what to do now on how to fix this problem and it's getting frustrating.
