I believe that we should add more backgrounds to our signatures signatures to. From the code the Jeremy Yak(I believe) sent me, it would not be very hard at all. Is there any way we could get on this?

Also maps should be updated.(which ones i'm not sure, because I haven't played in so long)

I would suggest just doing it, and posting it to the forums. Stuff has always been outdated like it is, and the only way to get stuff done is to just do it. It has always been that way. I wonder what the admins think about this site dieing?

Remaking old guides was one the things writers used to do. Since writers are basically dead, there's noone to take care of those old things (and, sometimes, the new ones too). That's why there are so many outdated guides and pages

That and because we actually have a serious deficit of people who're proficient in Html and javascript to code the pages we have got information for.

Im more than able too but cmafai said that i was mislead and wasnt able to get a promotion to help even though i have the time and skills.

And msword, we are currently trying to clean up the site, but we have other business in our hair that we have to weed out.

The problem our site has as far as dated content goes is rather obvious.

The problem is less then half of the staff currently plays rs - and we do not have nearly enough support from the members/writers (I know some of you still exist) to update the guides.

I would LOVE to be able to put more up to date maps, quest guides, ect on the site - but we need people to submit them. RuneCrypt has always been ran on mostly member based submissions - sadly we have not had much in the way of that recently.



It is impossible to expect to have a massive influx of active members joining the forums simply because we have a good community - thats what clans are for.


We need the content so we can add it to the site - the only way we're going to get it is if our members posted it. Even if ALL of the staff currently played rs - there is too much that needs to be updated for them to do without your help.

As far as hiring additional content developers - believe me I would love too - but I have not yet seen anyone who looks like that would fill the role properly. If I'm wrong about that then please show me why. CD's were historically chosen based on their ability to write guides and the quality of their work - as well as their commitment to RC.

If your talking about me compiling a b*tch list, maybe you should read the post again and fix the specific list I told you about?

I'm not asking you to compile anything, the dead links are about the only thing that can be fixed right away. Out dated content is something that I need contributions in order to update. I'm thankful that you've taken the initiative to point out things that do need to be fixed - The purpose of my post is to show members that content can be improved based on their contributions.

This may start going into a rant but it will get my point across.

Ive had a perfectly working guide sat there since october and its still not been wrote up. Swept Away Guide
I also have the skills to type it up and post it but as mentioned above apparently i couldnt make CD.

Same with the podcasts I had all needed programmes and idea's wrote down I was waiting on others, yes there are other things to do as well I know i had some but set asdide time to do these things.

I can see there being a shortage of volunteers, there may only be a handfull but when you make a list and go through it even just one a week the list will go down fast with a few people helping.

How hard is it to drop into dreamweaver and paste? Maybe its the good old MKPortal problem(which has always limited runecrypt) but I'm hoping thats what 'project shamrock' will be fixing.(if you can't acquire dreamweaver, NVU would work also)

I have and use Dreamweaver on a regular basis - Also i take a little more time in work than just cut and paste i wouldnt be putting anything up that i hadnt verified was correct. But thats just how i work, Im not a CD so meh.

i stopped writing guides every since i spent hours writing a guide that staff members said was good and ready to be uploaded, then i had to bump it 5 times, and its still not uploaded to this day.

Agreed. Its why this post will most probably be my last, I loved this forum when it was busy and being used and a guide was up almost instantly but now its just useless.

Sorry for being harsh but someone has to say it and ive also no doubt this post may end up being edited or deleted but im saying how i feel. Its got beyond a problem, maybe its because everyone is working on Shamrock iunno.

It seems since shamrock has been progressing runecrypt itself is failing.

I'm sorry, I feel kind of guilty because as a writer I should be trying to work agaisnt this but I had to stop playing runescape in september because of my real life. And even before that I was the only active writer, and I was basically writing for nothing. It made me feel just like you are doing, wasting my time.

If you want my opinion, removing the currect writers team and putting a new active one could solve this problem out (if CDs coded the guides)

I took it upon myself to revise the brimhaven guide, since nothing's really been accomplished in this topic. It's in word doc format to keep formatting and the extra hyperlinks I put in.

I'm the only CD which used to do coding, but I kind of fell out of that whole coding thing. Don't have the ability to do it at the moment, and since I'm the only one on the team who does it.. Work has stopped. So it's my fault that it hasn't got added yet. Thing is, everything is so outdated, there's so much work I don't know where to start on my own. And I don't really want to anymore.

If anyone wants me to write guides I will, I just cba to get pictures.

It's true that things need to get done. But still, I spent a bit on revising that guide, but I don't think people noticed I posted it.
