If I wanted to find out exactly when that was instead of guessing, what sort of log could I look into or request to be looked into to find that?

The only sure way I can think of would be to log on and find out the days since you last played. I'm not sure Jagex would go through a lot of trouble just to help your curiosity (sp?)....

Thanks for trying, but that wouldn't work as the day I made the account wasnt the only time I ever went on. In fact, I went on yesterday to check out updates.

Jagex has yet to release such a feature.

you can guesstimate via your oldest item, for example i have a yo-yo, so i know ive been playing since atleast christmas 2004.

I have a yoyo too. I got it pretty early when I began to play, so I guess my guess is quite close.
