I am me and only me
Can someone help me with this, please? When I open winamp, I immediately get "program not responding" windows prompt. I've cold booted, rebooted, re-installed, uninstalled, tried several different older versions. Nothing works, I don't have any viruses, and there's no difference between now and when it worked. It just stopped working one day and just won't start up.

I've been using iTunes for the past 2 weeks, and it sucks. No skins, the smallest I can resize it is still too Phoronidaing big, I can't see the album art (which isn't required but is hella nice), I hate EVERYTHING about it. Not to mention winamp takes up next to no ram, where as iTunes has a noticble difference decrease when I'm playing games. Not to mention iTunes plays like, 2 file types of music. I can't listen to half my damn music now, and theres no way in hell I'm taking up 2x the disc space and waiting a week for iTunes to convert to its shitty apple file.

I want winamp back. sad.gif

Use Windows Media Player? Or you could try system restore to a time before this started? Although I don't know how that'd actually help, but you can try. tongue.gif

1. I can't scrobble on last.fm with WMP
2. It's shit, for some reason my computer skips the first 30 seconds of a song when I use it...

Actually wmp can scrobble music, IF you download the plugin off of last.fm for it beforehand (or durring a reinstall of the last.fm software). Also system restore isnt a good choice at this point since 2 weeks can accumulate you alot of said pictures/logs/various documents in the said period.

Id have to start fooling around more with my winamp again before i can come up with a good suggestion. You could possibly try removing all of your plugins from your winamp directory before you reinstall it, to see if a corrupt plugin couldve been the cause. Maybe even a skin could cause it. Ive seen alot of poorly coded plugins and skins in my use of winamp.

You could use AIMP2 instead. It has about all of the same features and functionality that winamp offers. I just think it just lacks in the skin slection, so its a little less versatile in comparison. Otherwise its a Phoronidaing rock solid player.

Turns out when I run as admin, I get the same error message, but...it comes up anyways and works just fine...

BUT, in case of another fiasco I'll download that AIMP2, looks like a great program (no scrobble grrr). Thanks kreo. wub.gif
