Section 1: Introduction
Hello, and welcome to my Free to Play Melee guide to killing Cockroach Workers. This guide is intended to inform players in Free to Play of a monster that provides good experience in the Melee skills – Attack, Defence, Strength and Hit points – whilst also providing them with good drops. I choose to write a guide on killing Cockroach Workers rather than the Soldiers is because the Soldiers, for the level group this is intended at, would be considerably much harder to kill, require more food, and be less profitable and less experience.
Section 2: What is a Cockroach Worker?
The Cockroach Worker is a Melee based monster. It has a combat level of 56, with 54 Hit points. It can hit up to 6 damage at a time, and it can hit quite frequently, so it is no weakling.

Section 3: Required
Attack - 40+ (For Rune Weaponry, but should be 50+)
Defence - 40+ (For Rune Armour, remember these fellows can hit quite frequently, so higher, the better).
Strength – Should really be as high as possible.
Range – 40 (Optional, for Green Dragonhide Vambraces)
Fishing - 30+ and Cooking - 25+ (Optional, to get your own food, to save money on supplies.
You must also have completed the Player Safety mini-quest to gain access to the Stronghold of Player Safety Dungeon.
Section 4: Equipment and Inventory
For our Equipment:

Weapon: Use Rune Scimitar, Long sword, War hammer or Battleaxe, which one you use is down to personal preference. I did not notice any major differences in the weapons,
Helmet: Rune Full Helm > Rune Med Helm > Adamant Full Helm
Chest: Rune Plate body > Rune Chain body > Adamant Plate body
Legs: Rune Plate Legs/ Plate Skirt > Adamant Plate Legs/ Plate Skirt > Green Dragonhide Chaps
Shield: Rune Berserker Shield > Rune Kite Shield > Rune Spike Shield > Rune Square Shield
Necklace/Amulet: Amulet of Power > Amulet of Strength > Amulet of Accuracy > Nothing
Gloves: Rune Gloves > Green Dragonhide Vambraces > Normal Gloves > Nothing
Cape: Team Cape/ Normal Cape > Nothing
Ring: Nothing
Now for the Inventory:

Brown Dot: Your food source. I would recommend around 10 pieces of food. If you get them from the fishing spot, you can get this sorted for free.
Light Blue Dot: Alchemy Runes, these are optional.
Purple Dot: Teleport Runes, these are optional. If you think you need to teleport, use the Lumbridge Home Teleport, or use Varrock Teleport to get to the Grand Exchange quicker.
Section 5: Where are they found?

Black Spot: The Dungeon where they are.
Yellow Line: How to get there from Edgeville bank
Turquoise Line: How to get there from the Grand Exchange
Red Line: How to get there from Varrock West bank
Purple Spot: The fishing area where you can either go on a populated world, and pick up what the people fishing cook, or you can fish for your own food.
Section 6: Training Spots
Spot 1:

+ Plenty of Cockroach Workers here
+ Not many other players use this area
- The Cockroaches are quite spread out
My rating: 7/10
Spot 2:

+ Not many use this area
+ Cockroaches are closer together than Spot 1
+ Close to another chamber with more Workers
- Not as many as in Spot 1
My rating: 7/10
Spot 3:

+ Quite a few Workers here
+ Close to Spot 2
+ Close to a smaller area of Workers to the north
- This area is used the most by other player
My rating: 6/10. It is 8/10 if you can find a world with no one in the dungeon though.
Section 7: Rewards
I cannot tell you exactly how much experience you will get towards your skills, but I can tell you how to work what you individually will get.
Cockroach Worker’s Hit points are 54, so;
54*4 = 216 experience towards Attack, Strength or Defence.
54*1.33 = 71.82 experience to Hit points.
Then to work out experience per hour;
Amount of kills per minute*Experience per kill*60
For Drops:
From my personal experiences, Cockroach Workers can drop:
Coins
Mithril Ore (Noted)
Coal (Noted)
Nature Runes
Earth Runes
Cosmic Runes
Chaos Runes
Sapphires
From one trip, after using up all of my food, I had an inventory looking like this:

After looking up the prices on the Grand Exchange today, I found that my drops totalled up to around 17,035 coins to 18,686. So, depending on your luck, and your combat skills, you could be looking at possible between 15,000 coins to possibly 25,000 coins per inventory of food. I personally believe to be not too shabby.
Section 8: Credits
Me (For writing the guide, and collecting most of the information through my own work).
Jagex (For making Runescape).
Runescape (Otherwise they would be no point in writing this guide).
Runecrypt (For providing some information, and allowing me to put this guide up somewhere).
Please bear in mind this is my first guide, and that I have only recently gotten back into Runescape, and in fact Runecrypt too. All constructive criticism is welcomed by me.
