Jagex has come out with a new front page. Someone else can make at topic about that.

On the new page, one of the bullets says there is over 15,000 hours of F2P gameplay. Is this number accurate? How could one reach that number after acheiving all the quests and skills?

Discuss.

i guess thats the time to get 99 in all the f2p skills?

New front page? Where?

Runecrafting
count sadath
99 Runecrafting is easilly 1k hours. 99 Mining would be another 1k hours. Crafting like 500, smithing another 500, cook+fm = 200 combined. So that's 2.2k. Maxing out Melee stats each would take like 300 each. Mage+range are like 400 each prayer 500. So that's 4.7k. Woodcutting+ Fishing 600 ea. I don't know where that other 9k hours went though... If you include minigames and such there's like 6.5k hours.

I think the 15,000 hours are inaccurate. I played f2p for 3 solid years and never maxed any skills out or anything and I played it hardcore. That had to be over 15,000 hours.

simple maths dictates you would have had to play for 13.7 hours a day every day for three years to rack up 15000 hours so i dont think you played that much.

It's obviously obtaining 200 million exp in every free to play skill, finishing every quest and obtaining all items, including corrupt dragon n' friends. That's bound to take atleast a little bit, as nobody has even come close in total experiance, including members.

Believe me, you won't max out in every skill in 15,000 hours in F2P. The person with the most played hours currently (on F2P) is a Dutch girl named S Diamant Y (Sara for her friends) who has over 50,000 hours of gameplay and has only just maxed out (every skill 99, not 200m) a few months ago. Of course this doesn't say that you can't max out alot quicker but it's just to indicate how hard it is.

I think it's just a nice number they put up there to look cool. Maybe they've done some maths about it but that doesn't really matter.

I like how in that trailer, it's portray's RS as f2p, and yet every single thing in it is in P2P.

I think in that ad I saw one screen of a F2P scene... Very cunning Jagex, very cunning. Though I suppose most people do that with their advertisements, they aren't technically lying. :\

Don't forget the hours you spend just talking to people, lazying about.

THE SKILLER
[font=Arial Black] There is know way anyone can max out all free to play skill's in 15,000 Hours.I would like to see the person who did that .It's not all the same for all player it could take longer time.I been playing F2P for like 2 years and i am nowere near 99 anything. My highest skill is Fishing LV:60,.So i think Jagex is incorrect about how long it would take no one will ever know. And you know whats so funny .Who the idiot going to keep track of time while playing it LOL. That all i can say. no2.gif
Barak
I think we should consult an expert... that would be me.

do the math lol

15,000 hours... hmmm... none of us played that much ever, never came close actually. and here's proff:

Even if you play 6 hours a day, the whole year. you'll need to play 6 years and 10 months XD.gif

And i don't think mastering the game requires 200m exp, i think 99 in all skills, and all quests is enough and lets say obtaining the most valued item. (so you can make anything and buy anything.)

I believe you can finish all quests in f2p (including the training for dragon slayer) in around 10-15 hours.

now for the skills, i get around 40K exp an hour in melee and im only level ~80 att-str-def, and even in that speed 99 in all three will only take 1K hours. (do the math)

you could get around 25-30K exp and hour powermining and powerfishing/cooking...
so getting 99 fishing, cooking, mining should take around 1.5K hours.

I made 50K firemaking exp in under an hour (around 75K exp fm an hour) meaning around 200-250 hours for 99 firemaking (considering you have the logs)

and you'll get the logs from 99 woodcutting. which will take around 300-350 hours (around 40K exp an hour)

i reach around 8-10K exp an hour rcing (earth runes w/ gloves) so around 1.2K-1.5K hours for that.

considering you work properly you can get close to 99 prayer using training and enough cash.

crafting can be as much as 60K exp an hour so 99 crafting should be around 250 hours.

count sadath was the closes so far, i suspect around 7.5-9K hours should do it smile.gif

thing is none of you really understand how much time that is. even 7.5K hours = means 4 years and 2 months playing 5 hours ever day. tongue.gif

Fisher has spoken... but to do many skills you need ($.$) which can take months too.

Just depends if you macro or not. Ha!

Naw... 15,000 seems a little large though. And... a little "no lifeish". :/

Theoretically if you train your bank your iron you are down to around 12K exp an hour but that way you can get all the money you'll need to start you off.
+ what you get from monsters.
The only real problem is smithing and that can be overcome:
with mining you get around 37m gp (370K iron ores to 99), you should be set if you use your cash properly.

Your Low Def
I believe that 15,000 hours is highly incorrect. Reduce that number several thousand hours and that may be close to being correct. After all guys, what's wrong with Jagex giving their own estimate? It's not like they would try it themselves.

And we're talking about 15,000 hours of gameplay. This includes quests, minigames, skills and whatnot. I'm still wondering when JaGeX is going to let you show how many hours you've played so far. That'd be so awesome.

I used to think about the same thing when I was younger. But if they did show that to everyone some people would realize. "I have no life." and quit. Also, if their parents saw it they would make them quit.
