The Old Fogies is a brand new community who are looking to recruit adult members into a friendly social clan. We currently have no skill requirements so you can join us even if you're a brand new player. The only pre-requisite to joining is that you behave in a mature and sensible manner (see front page for details) - Updated! (04/11/2009).

Come along and join our fun and friendly bunch in a laid back setting. Note that we're also happy for you to multi-clan, there's no restrictions biggrin.gif .

At the moment we're supporting both free to play and pay to play (since we're mainly social it's not really a problem wink.gif )

You can apply to join in a number of ways.
  1. Head over to our clan website -http://www.theoldfogies.webs.com - and register
  2. Private message "netdrone" in-game (hopefully I'll be online)
  3. Join our in-game clan chat channel "theoldfogies" and get in touch with one of us
Our website has full functionality including, forums, photo galleries, a blog and more! Don't hesitate to check us out.

Note: You don't have to be active on the website in order to be part of the community. You can just make use of the in-game clan chat if you're not keen on signing up on our website.

Hey there mate, excellent stuff, we're looking forward to having you on board biggrin.gif!

Interesting, but i'm 4 years too young wink.gif
netdrone
Ah sorry to hear that! With a stroke of luck our community will be stronger than ever 4 years down the track.

Thanks for the post though,
Kev

I'm also too young. I also wasn't very aware of much in RuneScape the day I joined up all those years ago, so I'm not as much as a "RuneScape Elderly Person" as others.

You say "A home for RuneScape's Elderly,"
but also say "We currently have no skill requirements so you can join us even if you're a brand new player."

A brand new player is suddenly an oldie of RuneScape?
Sir Fisher
It's almost as if this clan was designed with me in mind blink.gif

If I start playing again I think I might consider joining smile.gif

Saebjorn: He means old players (with reference to age) as opposed to people who have been playing a long time smile.gif

Thanks for the interest Sir Fisher, you're welcome to join us at our community in the meanwhile if you like, we'd love to have you! We're pretty laid back about it, so no worries if you're not actively playing wink.gif.

Ah sorry Saebjorn, we've taken the hardline with the minimum age requirement sadly. In order to keep the essence of the community we need to stick to our guns on that one.

Firstly, please forgive the double post (I've yet to figure out why it is even an issue?) - reason being, if I edit the previous post, a big change in the community workings may go unnoticed.

Please note: The Old Fogies are now accepting players under 18 on a case by case basis which is done through an interview. There are some conditions attached to 'under-age' membership - see the 'Joining pre-requisites' section on our front page. Maturity and sensibility are must haves.

So, all you young'un whippisnappers who are really Old Fogies at heart (rather than biological age), this is your chance to join a friendly community that focuses on the things you appreciate biggrin.gif!

cool
Saebjorn
So the Old Fogies is not for veterans of RuneScape, but rather of people who are physically old in age that are playing? 19+ is ever so old.

And if it is for 'old' people, why are under 18's allowed anyway? That sort of defeats the purpose. Just a bit. :whacko:
Rob
Blame it on senility. They obviously just forgot they set requirements.
