I was browsing the officialjagex twitter, and I saw this:
QUOTE
Runewise.net have made a "collaborative RS Gold Selling & Cheating Sites Ads Filter tool" for fansites. Register at
http://bit.ly/E1tjp, Ajd
about 6 hours ago from web
http://www.runewise.net/rs/filter_reg/registration.phpSites such as Draynor, MechscapeWorld and even
Runescape have participated in this filter, and I think it would be a good idea to add this to Rc. It stop the annoying cheating and gold selling ads, and also would stop the comments such as "Why are we advertizing cheating sites???" "Wtf change ads plz" and the likes.
Just a thought.

Weird, I use it all the time and I don't see
any adds.

There are ads?
But in seriousness, I find a scriptblocker or adblock with a wildcard on adsense or advert usually blocks everything.

https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/1865There you go, that's what you need to stop seeing ads

I thought the idea was to have this so that new members wouldn't be turned off to the forum, and we wouldn't get any comments, even though Runecrypt has nothing to do with what ads show up. Not everybody is aware of the awesomeness of firefox sadly
I think it would be a great idea.

Ad blockers, no wonder I'm poor.
I reviewed my Burst network campaigns, currently there are no Runescape cheating/gold selling campaigns loaded onto this site.
I'll have cecchi add this script when he can.
On a side note, I believe cecchi actually "Forgot" to change the ad at the bottom of the forum from tribal fusion too our new advertiser. Burst Media is considered to be an extremely high quality ad provider - I have yet to see any burst media ad advertising any form of gold selling.
(If you do see any please let me know as it is actually very easy for me to control every ad that is displayed from burst media.)

You'd better bookmark those websites now so you don't forget them.

I installed that adblock addon and it didnt do a single god damn thing. infact it made it worse, now i get even more ads and they are worse because they each play an entire Phoronidaing movie nonstop with audio too (all nine Phoronidaing thousand ad spots on each page aswell). Phoronida your addons, i was better off with no blocker.

You probalby clicked the wrong filter. You did install Adblock Plus right? It works perfectly fine.

You have to subscribe to a filter first (Easylist USA).

We're so popular and awesome that our ad network basically forces people to bid to advertise in the different "zones" on our site (Sidebar, leaderboard, footer, etc), so we'd see it if any RWT tried to advertise here. Granted I don't know how Matt has it set up, so we might not be manually approving each site, but it is pretty easy for us to block these sites already.
