Where - Starting in Lumbridge at 6PM GMT walking up through Varrock and west along to Falador to pick up players along the way.

Requirements - Please only attend if you are over the age of 18 .

Come along and join Doris and Agnus with our very first tea party for old foges. We hope to create an event in which older, mature players can meet one another and extend their in-game adult friend circles !

Basically what's happening is our dedicated clan chat channel character will make his way from Lumbridge (where he stays) through to Varrock and then finally to the Falador party room. This will be followed by a small drop party containing items of various value. Attendees are welcome to join at any segment of the trip. If you're meeting us in Falador, we will be arriving a few minutes later than the stated time.



During the event please feel free to enquire about our community for RuneScape players over the age of 18. There's no pressure to join, you may choose to attend simply to meet players of a similar mindset without actively joining The Old Fogies and that's fine too . We won't actively advertise at all during the event, so if you are interested, you'll need to join the clan chat channel "theoldfogies". That said, we'd of course love to have you on board!

I understand that this type of event has no way to actively restrict players who don't meet the criteria and sadly that's a reality that will have to be accepted. Younger players may choose to join anyway. However, since The Old Fogies focuses on offering a social community based around adult players and no other activities, younger players may find they do not derive any benefit.

We have chosen a free to play world to include both player bases. I appreciate that the stipulated time may not be optimal for many people and this is sadly not easily fixable. I have tried to choose a time that will suit U.S based players. If this prohibits anyone, please reply to the thread and let me know. If there is a fair amount of demand for any other time zone (say Europeans) then a second tea party can be arranged.

This ought to be a fun and functional event. So if you're looking to meet more players over the age of 18, please pop along and have some tea with us!

Considering the number of scapers I used to talk to who're over 40, I'm not sure how they'd take to having people less than half their age being called old ulul. Plus there's no way I'll allow myself to be called an old fogie.

In reply to the questions,

Firstly, it should be obvious as to why it's 18+. The whole idea of the event is for adult players to meet one another and expand their social circles. Having under 18's join the event defeats the purpose. Hope that clears things up .

Secondly, there has to be a minimum age requirement of some age. I can appreciate that there are a lot of over 40's who play the game but I feel that 18 year old's who choose to join will obviously have a level of maturity and sensibility in common with that of their older counterparts. I could have equally decided on 21 or 25 etc but that may have excluded potential assets to the community. 18 seems to be a logical trade off between age and player base.

The name The Old Fogies is all tongue in cheek, basically for laughs and to reflect the non-serious attitude of the community .
