Well, hopefully I'll get some help here. I'm trying to make an Avvy for Png here. He originally requested a trombone avatar since that's what he plays in the band. I tried it once and got the outline, but before I could save my computer messed up and I lost the image. So now, I'm just trying to make a new avvy, non-pixeled. I asked if I could do Louis Armstrong and he said sure. So anyways, here's what I got so far.

And this is the picture I used.

Now, I recolored the image to my liking and I created a background. The only thing I'm having trouble on now is blending the image with the background so it doesn't have that "image just pasted on background" feel.

If anyone has any advice on how to blend the image in with the background to make it look better, please help. eep.gif

You could try starting with the render itself, then creating the background from that with smudging techniques. Its what I did on my current.

make some lighting to come off the back onto parts of the body. and give blue highlights to the forehead near the to blue part of the background - very lightly though

I think it's fine as it is. Nice re-coloring.

Well, I tried doing what you said Mark, but then I realized I'm not good at smudging. It seems like everything I do with the smudge tool, it messes my picture up. Also I was too lazy to look up smudging tutorials.

So then I tried doing what Fisher said with the highlight on the forehead. This is what I got.

Also thank Dino, it wasn't hard to do at all, lol. Took maybe 10 minutes to recolor it.
