I don't like b/w pieces much, and I guess this is no different. Maybe have a touch of colour on those effects near the render?

lose the splat and move the render like 10-20 pixels higher (so it doesn't look like he's trying to kiss the edge of the canvas) and it'll be really nice.

I like the fx.

It looks a little choppy around the shoulder and the chest like it wasn't cut out well.. also the black and white make it sort of difficult to look at.. other than that it's not that bad.
