July 23, 2009 - Administrators Update IV & More Content
We've been leaving you in the dark recently with regard to Project Shamrock, so I'm back to fill you all in on what we have been up to in the back room. If you haven't read the previous Administrators' Updates, check 'em out before you read this installment:
Update I
Update II
Update III
So today I'm going to let you all take a peak at the hiscores engine built into Shamrock. From the get-go we wanted to have a strong system in place to deal with tracking and manipulating hiscore data. Earlier we allowed our users to sign up for hiscore tracking in advance. For all those who signed up (and it's not too late!), we have been keeping track of your training progress. With the release of Shamrock, you will have access to brand new, completely unique calculators, courtesy of Falln Archon. These are a few of many interesting features that are included in these calculators:
Training Queues
If you've ever wondered what level "X" amount of Wind Strikes would get you... well we've done you one better. We'll tell you what level that will get you, and then what level you'll get if you cast "X" amount of Camelot Teleports after that. And then we'll tell you how many High Alchs you will need after that to get to level 90. Here's a quick example of that feature:

Required Materials
Say you want to cast "Confuse" on that silly Zamorak Mage in the Varrock Castle... until level 99 magic. Our calculators will tell you how many casts that'll take, but they'll also tell you the raw materials needed to cast all those spells:

Filtering
Sometimes the sheer amount of data can be a bit overwhelming, so we've split up every skill into sub-categories. But let's say you want to refine your terms even more. Instead of looking at all jewelery options under crafting, you may just want to look at the necklaces:

And trust me - Falln has max'd out these calculators. They are filled to the brim with more features than you can imagine.
In other news...
We have added another batch of guides. Thank you to everyone who contributed, and thanks to all those who coded them:
Curse of Arrav by Overdoziz
Meeting History by Silver
Map of Stronghold of Player Safety by Benjy
That sums it up! Until next time...
- Cmafai
