Full Version: I've made a sig for somebody else

Due to the recent FAIL at the sig I tried to make recently, found in this thread, I remade it from scratch.

I understand that all my real sigs have as style that are too similar and I need to try out other styles and different tutorials. However, I long while ago I agreed to a sig request on another site and the person specifically asked for it to be the same style as my Demonbane, Charmander and Saphira sigs - and anyway, it was an overdue obligation I hadn't done yet so I didn't want to waste time with new styles.

So on to the sig.

It's based (almost exactly layer by layer) as my Demonbane sig - I had them both open at the same time - but of course, it needed its own alterations and unique stuff.

What do you think of it? (I know it's very plain in terms of blending and stuff.)

@Barak - I've been trying clipping masks on text. They don't always work so well. In this sig, I couldn't get it to look good so instead I duplicated the text layer, set the original to Overlay and put the second (white) one on 42% opacity.

A big improvement I have to say... yes.gif

...on the old one, right? Not on my current sigmaking level. XD.gif

Why thank you good sir.

Tomorrow I'll probably do some blending on the render who had stuff done to him in between effect layers all the way through yet still appears sharp and crisp.

The background is good. The render is just pasted into there. This is bad. You need to incorporate the render into the sig. Since you just pasted it there is no blending whatsoever.

I used that text trick on borders back in the day that a sig without a border was WIP.

If you really wanna get new tricks into your sig making I suggest you just read tutorials. (not specifically here, rc doesn't have a huge array of great tutorials) you can go to the PR sites which have a LOT of tutorials.

^ Wow. We could be twins. I use that text trick and I think almost all sigs without borders are not complete until they get a border.

@Kreotis, I'd just like to make it clear that I know that. I did have the render with stupid effects done a few times during the sig, however unapparent it is at the end (I will freely admit that). If you have a look at this:

I was pretty much duplicating this sig, and its render was not very blended by the end (but a fair bit beforehand) but still worked well, I copied that and failed. DX

When I make some real sigs I'll definitely try a real style and read tuts.

The backgrounds remind me of old school gfx

Its called a specific style.

At least I don't leave random empty space. wink.gif
