I don't know but I was browsing some of my old pics of runescape, and I saw old interfaces and such.

I always like runescape for it's lack of graphics, and its care to change.

But after this 2 years of bull. I think the one that impacted me the most were the graphics.

I think the graphics back in the day just hit an area in me and now with these new graphic updates, i know they weren't recent and some people here have always played with this enviroment. but if anyone looks back on it, even now with the boring stupid looking new interface its still changing.

From this runescape has lost it's runescape spirit, to me its turning into the new WoW D::D:D:D: not rly i hate wow.

Old, i still play in low detail with most of the graphics options turned down or off.

The best update they ever made was that al the menu buttons had a corresponding F-button, simply decided by where they came on the menu. They have changed this and this is the worst chage ever on Runescape.

As for the graphics, I couldn't really care either way. I can't say I've ever played RS for graphics.

Ive been playing since early classic, but Im not going to say I miss the old graphics. Theyve been improved for a reason, they are more aesthetically pleasing, and hopefully in the future more graphical updates will come (of course a lot of changes would require huge mechanical changes...).

The textures of the new graphics looks very nice but most of the time they look awful on objects, NPCs and yourself. The ground it self looks very nice though

I agree that the lack of nice graphics gave the game some character, but still, I think nothing can really stay the same forever, and of all the ways for runescape to change, I think the graphics were a nice change, even if some of the textures do suck.

It's not the graphics that changed. It's your eyes.

Rs2 was definitely better than RSC (graphics wise). 2006 was the year of epicness - that was when I got my first 99 and had a lot of money.

2006 was the greatest year for everyone here.

I'm going to have to say, the new graphics are not that good.

There once was a time in RuneScape history where it wasn't about the graphics and animations, it was about the gameplay. Jagex spends there time nowadays focusing on the look of RuneScape instead of developing new and interesting quests and storylines. It's quite tragic.

I've been playing since Classic as well. From starting in Classic, my point of view of the graphics is very appreciative. I love how they have updated the look of Runescape from flat 2-D to some amazing detail in 3-D. I think Jagex has done an outstanding job with the graphics while staying with Java. I know back in the day it wasn't all about graphics but more about the game play and and community. But I'm glad Jagex has been able to grow like this and have been able to release better graphics.

The detail isn't amazing. Its a 20 pixel repeating black and brown line of texture that they throw on EVERYTHING regardless of it actually needing texture or not. The last time I checked rocks didn't have Z's drawn in them by SUDDENLY APPEARING black lines. Your face doesnt have the same problem either, go check a mirror. And I didn't know that clothes were vertical black lines with other vertical black lines of slight color placed on characters.

While I do miss old runescape, and strongly dislike the new f-keys(was used to the old ones -.-) I only go in high detail when I want to play fullscreen to tune people out on chats

The graphics of the current standard detail and hardly any different from the 'old' rs2 graphics.
