Ok, with all the hype about Modern Warfare 2, Wii owners have been feeling a bit left out.

However, Infinity Ward will not only release Modern Warfare 2 on November 10th, but they will also release COD4:Modern Warefare for the Wii. Click here for a detailed summary of what wii owners can expect on 11/10/09

Meanwhile, those of us who have a PC, Xbox360, or Playstation3 will happily be picking our own killstreak rewards.

After me not posting for a while, it's worth nothing that another multiplayer video was released, along with 2 most excellent features at the end of the video.

Also worth noting, there are already a line of Modern Warfare based game acessories ready for your enjoyment. No pics of the PC stuff yet, but the Elite Keyboard does seem very promising.

I am thoroughly excited for this. I never was big into shooters until I played Cod4 but now I'm hooked. I might even preorder this provided I have the money, which isn't something I normally do for games unless they look really good to me. Can't wait!

In more formal text based news, GamesRadar has made a report on things to expect in multiplayer here.

A quick overview of what they got that other people have missed:
Riot Shield - This takes the place of your primary weapon for antibullet goodness, when using your secondary weapon, it gets slung on your back and stops bullets from behind.
Secondary Weapons - Are no longer limited to handguns, you can have shotguns and explosives too.
Silenced Snipers and Shotguns - Yes, you heard correctly, apparently they saw some No Country For Old Men.
Death Streak - Now when you die without getting any kills, you get rewards handicaps to help you turn the tide.
Bling - Perk that allows for two attachments
Perk Challenges - Complete a challenge for a perk you have to unlock its Pro version.
Tactical Insertion - Use this special grenade to leave a marker that, if not destroyed, allows you to spawn at it when you die.
Destructable Aircraft - Give that enemy UAV the middle finger with a well placed RPG, no word on higher caliber guns having an effect though.
Rewards for Things Other Than Kills Distract an enemy while your team takes him down? +Xp. Shoot down aircraft? +Xp.
Callsigns - Includes a title, insignia, background, gamertag, and level. All that determined by what you do online.

In other not nearly as exciting news, there's now an official limited edition Xbox360 for this game available for preorder. It comes with the 250G Xbox, normal edition of Modern Warfare 2, 2 wireless controllers, a wired headset, and other small cables. At $400, you might just wanna buy the prestige edition and secondhand 360 stuff.

And on one last note, UK residents will see some exclisive love. game.co.uk will market the veteran edition along with a code for downloading Call of Duty Classic, and a 12 inch tall statue of Soap McTavish. Its only available for GAME reward card customers though.

Every single new gameplay "addition" they mention is another thing that promod will inevitably have to remove.

By the time Promod's done tweaking everything to competition standard there'll be a new CoD out.

I'm just saying that the game probably isn't going to be that great, but will be good. I hear people saying it will be the best game ever. Saying so is just plain idiotic.

Have fun with your ability to copy paste.

Everything I've heard from tweets and such say that it should be like the first one, except with some texture details, more detailed characters/players and reflective surface overhaul.

If you can run the first on moderate settings with AA on, this shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Edit@ Overdoziz: It doesn't reward you, it helps, so far the best reward is 10 seconds of invincibility after you respawn.
Smoby
Well my graphics card and RAM shouldn't be a problem but it's my CPU speed I'm worried about -- I could only just ran the first with it. Ah well, my PC could use an upgrade anyway if it's really needed.

HK MG4-Light MG
AA-12-Shotgun (worth noting, its fully auto and has option for grenades to take place of shells in real life)

Lots of controversy surrounding the war torn D.C. and monuments. But then again, killing dogs was a huge controversy too.

Bad news for PC players, the game has been delayed by 2 full weeks, but only for the PC.

If you didn't already get it, then kiss that prestige edition of MW2 goodbye. All copies are gone for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

And for those of you thinking that this can't be nearly as good as halo, suck it. Or drink it rather...
IPB Image
Monster energy has teamed up with infinity ward to bring a Modern Warfare themed energy drink. Unlike Mountain Dew, drinking the stuff can give you a chance to recieve a code that will get you a bonus map pack in the game. Or a chance to get the game itself.

And if you missed the post directly above due to that halo topic, then read that too, its totally worth your time.

Yes, that bit of news had come as a relief to me, but what everyone is mad about is...

No more dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 2

For those of you that don't know, dedicated servers are what allows for the existence of multiplayer mods, custom maps, and fair connections. Instead there is a much more rule bound and lag prone console type connection, much the same as you see in Xbox Live and Playstation Netwrok.

But we were given some vital pieces of information, our computers should cakewalk through this like they did on the first Modern Warfare.

QUOTE(System Requirements)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (Windows 95/98/ME/2000 are unsupported)

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor or better supported

Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet Connection required for activation.

Co-op/Multiplayer Hosting: To host Co-op or MP matches, a 2Ghz dual-core or better processor is recommended.

Also there is rumored to be 3-rd person perspectives available to toggle in the online options.

In a twisted turn of events, the game has already been pirated for the Xbox360! Microsoft is taking severe actions by banning the consoles themselves instead of just the accounts. No PC version was pirated from the leak that happened.

It's here.

And so far... I can't tell.

Steam has decided to be extra retarded and make users wait until Thursday before the game becomes playable. This doesn't affect retail version purchases of the PC version, just Steam.

And as if PC users weren't jipped enough, we are now bent over the table and taking it up the arse.

5 days ago, this article was posted to show just how screwed PC gamers really are. For those of you who can't be asked to click the link, here is the absolute best part of the article.

QUOTE

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

Maybe they forgot, but the reason Call of Duty is where it's at today is because of PC gamers and modders. If Treyarch ever had a chance to shine, this is it.

I need MW2 + Xbox 360 now.
Nick
From what I can tell from playing at friends' houses: its alright, but way over-hyped. The rank system and create-a-class for multiplayer is pretty sweet and the co-op ops are interesting. But not the "super-awesome-game-of-the-year" it was supposed to be, in my opinion.
Overdoziz
Some of the Spec Ops mission are so darn hard. sad.gif
I hate Ghillie Snipers and Juggernauts (who aren't even fun to kill just plain annoying).

leonheart550
I want this game. But i dont have a ps3 or xbox 360 anymore. After seeing how pc gamers got Phoronidaed up the ass im worried about getting it

Awesome on the 360, PC is probably MEH because it's the same as all the other versions, which it shouldn't be.
Overdoziz
I fell in love with the javelin.

Console and dedicated servers, PC gamers can has them.

Our friends at Game Replays have shared with us a video of some person who found a way to make dedicated servers happen. But how is it possible? With the newly cracked console of course!

And to reiterate the above story, That also has a helpful link to a helpful download *wink wink* But as that article says, use that download at your own risk.

Personally, I have not been banned for use of dedicated servers or the console.

But this Console crack brings us news of 3 new game modes. VIP, 1 Flag CTF, and GLobal Thermonuclear War. Apparently, they were going to make us pay for modes we already had in their first DLC.
Emperor Josh
Played through the Singeplayer on the PC; and it was a lot of fun - although if anyone has seen the Zero Punctuation review of it, it's pretty dead on. I didn't pay for it because 4 hours of gameplay isn't worth the money (this on PC).

I played the Multiplayer on a friend's 360 and thought it was lackluster; no real improvement on MW. And 9vs9 for multiplayer is dreadful and so is a lack of official dedicated servers for PC.

Not my cup of tea overall.
Maarten
No real improvement? I'd say that the fact that there are quite a few new challenges with extra rewards is a big improvement. It really boosts your will to play.
And what about upgradable perks and unlockable killstreaks? There are quite a few significant improvements.

Perhaps that was poorly worded. There was not enough significant improvements to warrant the price tag for either version; sure extra little bits are nice but these were knocked by the fact that they changed a lot of what was good about the first game or completely removed it (at least on the Multiplayer side of things for PC)

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If they'd added what there is and not introduced the ridiculous IW.NET system then it'd be a much better game overall.

But I still don't think little "features" warrant the game being classified as a seperate title. The original game was fun to play on the PC without the perks and unlockables.
