I love emo teenagers who think they are the be all end all of life yet they hate their lives. I love the scene kids who conform to mass media and bullshit just to fit in - they have no heart and no soul. I love the druggos who have no ambition and try to find answers to their problems in their problems. They either end up dying or frying their brains. I love the people who don't give a Phoronida and just commit suicide. You idiot. I love the people who attempt to be better than everybody else and fail because they don't have the true essence of awesomeness. It doesn't come to you when you want it - it comes to you when you need it. I love those who used to diss nerds but are now "geeky" or "nerdy" because it's socially "hip". I love those who live off their myspace and everyday seek validation from other meaningless faces in cyberspace. I love those who pray on all those I have mentioned. They prey on their insecurites, their weaknesses, their doubts, and in doing so they consume all of their insecurities, weaknesses and doubts, and thus they become the demon - which is locked up in jail for life and hated by all of society.
And what does this say about society?
It paints a picture of society killing itself, slowly but surely. Society does away with itself in a sort of subsonscious slow suicide because it can't deal with the problems it faces.
In the end I thank us for who we are. The calm, the contemplative, the humoured, the witty, the intuitive and the intelligent. I thank us for the fact that we are here, that we exist, that we give some sort of meaning to this otherwise detriment filled squalour.
We are history. It is our story. We write what we want to write. And it doesn't matter in the end - for there is infinity.
And so what matters is to be happy with yourself. To forge a family for yourself. To fight for your common man, for the under-dog, so that if ever you are the under-dog you can hope that somebody will fight for you.
Act as though you have been helped before. Act as though you were given a second chance. Act as though you have risen and have been given life again.
Act.

Does anyone have a deep gravelly voice to read that out in? Perhaps an Irish brogue. I'm thinking we either need Brad Pitt or Colin Farrell to do it.

Oh God Rob, Brad Pitt would be awesome. Love his teethy, almost lispy voice. Also, what are your sentiments of my piece? You have given no news, and I take that to mean that you don't see too much wrong with it? I am merely trying to make sure by asking you

I thought it was awwright but would be infinitely improved if read by Brad Pitt. I can only get half his voice reading it in my head. And then I keep getting distracted by fight club speeches when I do.
The later bits also make me think of Mike Skinner.

Yeah man, I love those speeches written by Palahniuk and read by Pitt. ;D
I read some of my poetry out to some college mates the other day as a vital part of a speech I was giving. Some told me that listening to me reading out my poetry had a much greater affect on them compared to themselves reading it in their mind to themselves. I think that there is definitely something important about this idea.

Do you know what I can't stop thinking about?

I came.
Honestly, how many beers did you have before writing this?
Row

No beers. But maybe a bottle of wine.
And about... hipsters... I don't know much about them at all so I couldn't really say anything.

Warning: Some images are somewhat squicky. Nothing too bad though: http://www.latfh.com/
Edit: You know at the end when they talk about stuff, and 2 of them bring up Chuck Norris? How where they not hipsterlynched right there? :|.
The last two kind of sum it up. I've been meaning to dress up as a meta-hipster, wearing ironicly mismatched clothing for ironic reasons, ironicly. I haven't found the time, but i'll probably do this tomarrow after the first day of school, when I have some free time.
I'll do it just for you Row. Only seeing such punchable fashions on probably the most fragile person you know can culminate enough hatred torward these confused, strange people. God, hipsters. Even hipsters hate hipsters, man. Hipsters are just... Awesome, but they get so awesome, they suck and are hilarious.
HOWEVER. Hipsters are still better than any of the people you described. Forsrs.

I can't watch that video yet. I'm in literature class.
Are hipsters considered 'arty' ? Like poets, artists and all that?

They can be. There are several kinds of hipsters, but it's really complicated. But yeah, From an outsider, one would assume they probably paint/musics/poetry or something like that.
Social subcultures are weird like that, bro.

Ah I see. The video helps a lot. Hipsters appear to be soulless faggots who latch on to anything that was once deemed 'hip' in some bizarre sort of amalgamation of different trends, as if they are trying to create one giant uber-trend of which they can be a part of. Wherein lies the irony of the whole extravagant idea - to be hip is to be 'original' and so these 'hipsters' fail at being original as they have brought nothing new to the table and yet still brag about just how goddam good they are. I think it's the cockiness which really ruins it for them.

While you've got them down, pretty much, hipsters have got some things right. Ish. There's somewhat a careful border between what is considered Indie and what is considered Hipster. Ex. The store where i'll probably do a bunch of shopping is somewhat hipster, but not in that ironic sence. Same goes with my other favorite store, H&M. It's complicated junk.
But yeah, hipsters are still hilarious.

I agree that is pretty relevant Drerven.
I think that the major difference between indie kids and hipsters is the amount of cockiness involved. Indie kids are generally pretty easy going - it seems as though hipsters can be snobby brats in contrast.

That I think nailed it. Indie kids, from my experiance, can go from hating themselves to not caring. Hipsters go from not caring to cockineess, like you said. Also, when you get somebody who calls themselves indie and is even somewhat cocky, you have A PREP. Fekkin' preps, I hate them even more than hipsters. I had better make some sweet indie friends, in addition to old friends and asian friends in high school. Jams and chilling out at... Some place, right, bro? Hells yeah. .
Also, the only reason I use bro is because of MSPA.
Edit: ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff so true. It's like somebody went this friend of mine's house and found pictures to describe him.
Double edit: Except I'm pretty sure he has the low Chucks, and yellow. I'll probably go not black next time.

Moral of the story is cliques are only relevant while still in school. When in the working fields dressed for business casual those barriers break down.
