I absolutely love the ranging skill but im not sure the best place to train.

Of course im f2p and ive been using lessers to train with at 70. I want to get to at least 75 if not 80plus.

Is this the best place?

Hmm. I'm not sure that there is a good spot to train range in f2p. Your best bets are probably moss giants in varrock if you can get a good world, although a lesser is fine too,

For F2P range, I did
1) Minotaurs, stronghold of security, they drop irons, you come back with more than what you came with
2) Hill Giants, always, ALWAYS, AAAAAAALWAYS crowded. I'm talking like, the world's been taken down and the server destroyed and there are still 20 people there.
3) moss giants, usually crowded, the ones on crandor are a bit out there, but not usually packed.
4) Lesser Demons, I wouldn't :\, I've heard people do it, doesn't seem very effective to me

I feel like I did Lessers from 77 to 80 but I can't remember for sure

After I hit 75~ I bought lots of bronze arrows and powerranged at Ankous. There is a safespot near a door in the stronghold in one of the rooms on the final level.
Did that and got lots of exp from there when I was F2P...

Other than that, your best bet is probably Lessers.

What kind of crossbow is recommended for level 70+ range?

in f2p none..lol..thanx for the answers guys...

Can't use crossbows in f2p, but rune for anything serious and bone for standard training with no picking up bolts. (Greaters cage etc.)
