In a game played earlier this evening Axle Witsel (Standard) committed a gruesome foul on Marcin Wasilewski (Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht). He was sent off with a red card and as an Anderlecht fan I hope he gets suspended for a few months at least, and that our hooligans beat him up. Wasilewski will, unless a miracle happens, miss the rest of the season and maybe his career. I have no idea how long it will take him to recover, or if he ever even will. "Enjoy".

Boussoufa looked really shocked... When it happened to Eduardo last year you could see the whole team were not playing their usual football. Probably explains why Anderlecht didn't crush little Standard.

In circumstances like this, the guilty party should be banned for as long as the injured player is. It's only fair, otherwise Witsel will be out for what? 3 games? And Marcin will miss the entirety of the season, if not more. So in actual fact, it's Anderlecht who are being punished and disadvantaged. Not the way football should be.

Goddam if he can recover from such a bone-breaking and ligament-tearing war-wound he is a true beastima.

It's not just the physical wounds which will incarcerate his ability, but the psychological wounds as well.

Yes, he was immediately taken to a hospital.



Well, I was watching the game live, and it happened near the Anderlecht bench, so the first thing I saw was literally everybody jumping on the field, a lot of commotion, both coaches on the pitch, 10-15 people of the medical staff around Wasilewski (which was a pretty worrying sight) , and it took atleast 5 minutes to get the game back underway. Some Anderlecht players wanted to stop, but they eventually played on. It was all pretty chaotic, as was the whole game. He ofcourse got a red card, and today (Monday) he will most likely get suspended by our football association.

How do you snap a leg like that?

Tbh his injury does look very painful but out of all of the injuries a person can have I'd rather have a broken leg. The body is amazing when it comes to healing itself. He might not be able to play as well as he used to when it heals but he will be fine imo.

The diagnosis has been confirmed : a double leg fracture, Wasilewski will be out for 10 to 12 months. He underwent surgery tonight and in a week he will be operated again (they have to wait to avoid infection apparently). After that he can start recovering I assume.

Let's all hope for a quick recovery. This is, without a doubt, a life altering experience for Wasilewksi.

I always do. I think of the time my brother broke his arm and the bone was sticking out his wrist. It was h-i-larious.
