Runescape has never been better as a game to pick up every summer and subscribe for about 2 months. It is just so awesome and all the small fixes in today's update is a testament to Runescape's sweetness. I would definately play it if I didn't have school and whatever.

Discuss.

Which update? The one where WATERFILLED VIALZ COME IN PACKS OF 500 TO STOP YOU PAYING EXTORTIONATE MERCH PRICES AND TO STOP YOU RUNNING SO MUCH? BEAST UPDATE EVEAR.

I usually use Grand Exchange, but yeah, that's one of them. H.gif.

Socialist.

Socialism requires a government. I am not and have never been a socialist.

Pretty much true, I played it for a month over the summer, after a week I realized that the game actually only consists of constant grinding for levels. It's terrible, since there are no direct rewards for gaining levels..

But for some reason it did entertain me.
Benjy
I find RS a little too 'technical' for my liking these days. It's less a, hop on, kill stuff, be rewarded. I find myself attempting to calculate the best ways to train in the best cases, putting profit over investments and putting it into percentages >.<

Much too complicated. But still fun once you're doing it.

Runescape is slowly becoming less of a child's game, and more of a deep thinking adult game...designed by British people who ENJOY thinking.

I think that they are making Runescape less grinding than it used to be. With all the new Make-x Options and buying Packs of items, they are eliminating the repetitive clicking from the game. Another example is the Ivy you can woodcut, its practically AFKable, and is the best xp.

In my opinion, with Jagex removing some grinding, and putting thought and puzzle elements in the game is an attempt to have the game mature as the players are aswell. But, they still save enough of the childish elements to be welcoming to new players. I really don't rant about much (with a few exceptions) because I know that the game can't stay the same forever, and you really have to deal with the changes, for better or for worse.
Rob
Benjy, I do the same and more.

I've gotten to the point where I work out required drop rates to ensure profitability or even just designing profit/loss charts dependent on likely forecast rewards versus guaranteed costs.

I never realised I was so suited to becoming an accountant.

My favorite part of the game is herblore and farming, especially looking, horrified, as ranarr seeds break 50k. Good times.

Also, honestly, playing the game has reminded me how I really love all of it. Pretty much everything is good fun. Except maybe firemaking and runecrafting, but to each their own.

Oh, also, something random about Runescape because this really is the only thread where Runescape is discussed anyways.
I've done like, Monkey Madness, Legend's, Desert Treasure, Recipie for Disaster and honestly, the only hard boss i've fought is the Gelatonath Mother from RFD. Wow. That was a challenge. I had to give it my all and still almost died at one point.

But yeah, i'm looking forward to when I can play for a bit again.

Runescape is getting easier not because of the make-x options, yes by making a series of things easier, since almost everything in runescape is related, by making something easier to get a lot of other itens get easier. What they should stop doing is making the skills easier, and some strong monsters that can actually kill you.
Bloodthir
I like strategic boss fights. Strong monsters are cool. However, strategy based monsters ment to be killed in numbers (Steel Dragons), have always been a turnoff.

What do you mean by making skills easier?
Rob
I blame all the mad-xp minigames and items.

In my day ranging was done with a mage short at the waterfall cave (Or in the wild if you're hardcore like Mcoroklo) or knives at the greater demons cage. None of this 400k an hour chinchompas or 700k a day pest control nonsense.

Oh right. Yeah, there are some pretty ridiculous things. I guess you can kinda buy exp, which was always kinda the point, but Chins are just kinda weird and up there next to cannons. fffff cannons. soyeah.
Rob
Cannons are terribly inefficient for training range. Per damage they only offer 2xp rather than 4xp.

I can hit more with a rune crossbow and addy bolts than a cannon can and with 99 range I usually hit more accurately as well.

Cannons are good for slayer and that's about it.
Bloodthir
Man, I hate cannons. I would totally punch a cannon in the face if it were defenceless and if I had no guilt.
Rob
If you removed an n that would be a hilarious statement.
Overdoziz
I've pretty much quit grinding in RuneScape and decided to only to things that I truly enjoy. This consists mostly of doing quests, talking to people and checking out new updates.

Still need to get 1900 total and 99 defence, though. unsure.gif
