Merchanting Guide v2

While you travel around the Runescape map you may find people saying oh nice crown how much did it cost. You answer 35 million gold points why? and he is very confused and shocked about how is it possible to make that much? Well the answer is very simple, MERCHANTING. Merchanting isn't just killing dragons or selling ashes or even smithing or fletching. PKing can also lead to alot if your a pro but merchanting is a fun and easy (to some) way to get money for some people. It is a pathway for you and me to rare items ranging from the legendary full rune who all level 3s dream off... well the point is that you can merchant very various items but here are some tips:

1. Never lower your price down unless it already fell.

2. If you notice a high fall of a price of an item don't try to buy it because if you don't sell it at the due date you might lose some money such as ex: full Guthix used to cost 3m- hard to sell now its 1.9m and still hard to sell.

3. Look on your second screen for a long long time 30 seconds-1min if they decline its probably because they offer something like 100k instead of 1000k or 1004 instead of 100k its a scam and if you meet this situation immediately report abuse item scamming because leaving an unsuccessful thief red handed and untouched is not a good way to continue. This is the same as a person throwing a knife at you and misses its still an abuse and you shouldn't leave that alone. Well I did the tips now lets get to the fun part (may be boring to some). Merchanting is buying low selling high; scams are very common and annoying so don't get into a scam please do what you can not to.

Here are the list of holiday items and how much they currently cost:

Halloween Masks

Green mask: 4.2-4.8m

Blue mask: 5-6m

Red mask: 6.5-8m

Other Holidays

Pumpkin: 2-3m(hard to sell)

Christmas Cracker: 90-120m

Easter Egg: 2-3m

Santa Hat: 5.5-6mil

Party Hats

Purple partyhat: 35mil

Green partyhat: 40m

Yellow partyhat: 36-40m

Blue partyhat: 86m

Red partyhat: 60m

White partyhat: 60+m

*Merchanting those items must be fast because they rise 0.1-10m a month

Scam Items

The Following items are useless and considered a scam item so don't merchant those:

1. Spinach roll
2. Charcoal (can be gotten free from chopping down a tree in or around bandit camp.
3. Unfermented wine (used to be rare in Runescape)

Suggested Methods of Merchanting

Here's some ways to merchant when you have the money to:

If you are a good merchant, you might have noticed that my chart is not fully complete because there are a lot of items which can be merchanted. I still don't know how to make 4.2m in 2 days.

Areas to Merchant
One of the best merchanting world areas is the Varrock's big bank and around in world 1.
There are a lot of sales but remember that the big bank is organized and should be easier to talk about.

Above the bank is the most interesting area of all, THE MAGNIFICENT SALE.
You can find god armor parts and full sets, holiday items, disks of returning, and of course the scam item sales.

Right of the bank and under the bank left of the bank - there are various items worth no more then 500k those items are not rare and might be messed up if couple of people get lost where they are suppose to sell their items at.

World 2 is a member merchant area in Falador park and around the bank. All around the area there are a lot of good stuff but mostly they are separated into 4 sections:

1. The bottom middle to bottom right: cheap stuff
2. Top middle and top right, and over the wall kind of top: overwhelming stuff
3. Left: barrows stuff
4. Middle: desperate salesman area

HAPPY MERCHANTING, AND DON'T FORGET MERCHANTING IS ALWAYS FUN AT THE WRONG MOMENTS.

Warning: Merchanting may take a long time and make you lose time to get up to 50 yearly levels. do it at spare time... people who played 1.5 years like me already got level 126 and I am only 84 so try to train but merchant for money.
